This little restaurant has the BEST FOOD around....if you don't mind eating in a flea market! Upon tasting the fresh brewed teas and the spanikopita appetizer; all thoughts of the clutter around vanished! What followed was a truly gourmet meal with flavors that blew the top of your head off! I could praise everything on the menu (that's how many times I've been back) but alas, there's no space for it here! JUST GO!
I visited with the Red Hat Mermaids of New Port Richey on Fri. 9/5/08. I cannot recall enjoying a meal as much as I did at Zante's. Chef Brad does some remarkable things with food - so much so that I am salivating while I record my thoughts. The Spanokopita melts in your mouth with light flaky pastry and the filling of spinach and cheese was sublime. The Lamb Shank was extremely flavorful and came right of the bone. The Tiramisu was light and delicate - the perfect ending to a sensational meal. I will be back there very soon. Oh, did I mention the decor - ya gotta see it to believe it! And, we love Liza, Brad's wife, hostess, and server. She is delightful and makes you feel right at home.
This is a really neat place to eat! The food, teas, deserts - were delicious! The surroundings were unique and added to the charm. A red haired young man (13 or so) and his beautiful dark haired sister (maybe age 9) served our food on beautiful china plates under the supervision of their mother. Most impressive was the desire, exhibited by all, to please the customers! Lunch was served promptly and glasses quickly refilled. Regarding the surroundings - movie goers will not be disappointed - Star Wars fans, Spiderman fans, E-T fans, etc.. the place is filled with posters and other interesting items...I loved the food, the charm, and the youngsters learning their parents business! We will be back!
This is VERYunusual place. Yes, don;t be turned off by the surroundings!! Food is OUTSTANDING, individual servings. Rated a 4+ on the entire menu. Will goback often, as the menu isfull of really great things!!!
This place looked like a huge tag sale when we walked in! It was dusty and cluttered. The tables were so close together we barely had room to breathe. The food was decent, but we were served by the wife and children! The smallest child was running around the restaurant without his shoes on. Our friends told us reservation only, so we were quite shocked to walk in and pay over $20 a plate each to eat n a closet spaced environment.
It's a small place that works most of the dinners on a reservation basis. You can bring your own beer/wine since they don't offer it. Glasses are provided. Chef Brad is a genius in the galley. He preps and cooks each item to order with love.
chef brad will prepare the best food you have ever tasted.my wife and I have lived in pinellas for 13 years and this is the best food we have ever tasted in the area. And a dinner for two here won't break the bank.Zante's is the BEST.
