The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly:
First, the Good - Great heated pool, and hot tub, met really cool people, attractive and willing to mingle, food was excellent and priced fairly. Night club rocked on Friday and Saturday.
Next, the Bad - Scary single guy on the dance floor, naked, by him self, with a hard on. Not good. Room was just ok, but they know this and are about to rebuild the hotel bigger and better.
Finally, the Ugly - The marketing pitch was a joke. They promised a 45 minute presentation, and 3 hours later we told them we were done. It starts with a lie - the inflation calculator is mathematically way off, as it assumes your expenditures are 100% made in year one, and then the inflation rate was applied to it. Way overstates the your estimated costs. Then the manager Bruce was called in after I did not want to buy, and he was rude and an ass. Conclusion - Just pay your resort fee and skip this fiasco. We would like to go back, but they said since we did not buy the marketing package, our names would be placed on a list and we would not be allowed to come back. Really? come on.
We travel the Caribbean widely and have been to numerous adult resorts. This was our first domestic, clothing optional resort.
Clean, landscaped and appointed as nicely as most of what you see at the nicer tropical resorts. Very friendly staff, topless waitresses around the pool. You can go absolutely anywhere at any time totally nude with never even a passing glance. Casual nude activities available at no extra cost, canoeing, bicycles, volley ball, pool games, karoke, night club, exercise classes, all nude if you like.
Food is very basic but hot and fresh. Lots of good restaurants just down the road. This is a clothing optional gated community. People working on their lawns, walking the dog, and playing catch with their kids, all nude. A refreshing and very relaxed uninhibited environment. I have never seen such a friendly, relaxed resort atmosphere anywhere.
Fat, skinny, old and young. Nobody cares or even seems to notice that your nude.
Give this place a try before you die. Definately a very interesting life experience.
The rooms and amenities are first rate. The grounds and clubhouse are spectacular. Rates are reasonable, for what you get. We have been going since they opened. There are improvements each time we visit. The restaurant is attractive and the food passable-to-good. Service is friendly and efficient.
The negative (for us): the clientele... especially in tourist season and especially for dances and the DJ... has over the years become less classy. Some visitors think that loud discussions peppered with obscene and overtly sexual language is now okay at dinner. This is a turn off to us. Last time we ate in the upscale dining room, the adjacent table was loudly sharing stories of their sexual exploits, which we really didn't want to hear.
At dances, there are more displays that border on or achieve vulgarity.
We're just nudists, so, in the future, we will stay away from places/times where we're going to be offended.
This is a shame, because otherwise the place is nearly perfect,
Caliente has it all. Several fine restaurants, a huge tropical pool with islands and a spectacular waterfall. This is one classy resort. Relax in the hot tub or workout in a state of the art gym, grab a massage and relax in the sun. You will never run out of things to do both day and night. A nice piano bar and upscale night club for your enjoyment. You won't forget your vacation here.
Top notch resort. A jewel among nudist resorts. Way ahead of anything I've been too before. Full service high class restaurant, sports bar, state of the art club. Four pools, hot tub and conversation pool. Get ready to be spoiled by luxury. Full service health spa.
