Roaches, roaches, roaches. Very unclean, had a roach run right under our table. The food had no flavor (what we ate before getting up and leaving mid meal) and the service was terrible. The servers have a collective IQ of 10 and bad attitudes to go with the sub par IQ's. The owner appears to sit at the bar downing drinks as opposed to paying any attention to what goes on in the restaurant. Save your time and money!!
The Main Street Restaurant (formerly Sal's) is under new management. Since the reopening I have had lunch there twice. The first time the fried fish (name unpronouncable) was almost raw and stringy. Went back again for lunch to give it another try and ordered the chicken tender platter and received two small strips of chicken tenders served on an appetizer sized plate with an equally tiny plastic cup of coleslaw. I have seen children's portions that were larger than this. Needless to say, we left hungry. The quality and quantity has certainly gone down with this new management.
I go to this resturant all the time but today will make it my last because they told me that my 2 year old daughter was not welcomed there. The manager was trying to tell me how to raise my daughter. she cursed at me and then got all in my face and put her hands all in my face yelling at me. They are lucky that the owner was not there.Dont go there ever. stay away
We found Sal's by accident last June. The food was incredible and the service was excellent. I believe it was even new owners. We had a small pizza for and appetizer and it was very good. The salad was fresh and the house dressing too. I had Veal Marsala which was the best I have ever had and my husband had lasagna. Huge portions. Everything cooked to order. Would rather eat here than the fake food at Olive Gardens. We will be back whenever we are in the area.
I have lived in Citrus county for 15 years now, and have been to Sal's for the past 11-12 years. They by far are the best in Citrus for Italian food, they're Pizza is great however I feel the real talent lies in the Kitchen. They're chef makes the soups from scratch! Most restaurants don't bother everything is all pre-made.If you are looking for great Italian food and The best from scratch soup ever. Go to Sal's Italian Restaurant!
