We were visiting the area for a week and decided to eat dinner at Applebee's the night we came into town instead of taking a risk on a local place when we were too tired to seek out good local fare. Applebee's has always been consistently good for us. This location was no different. The server was very good, and we loved the new device that allows you to buzz your server any time, which is a long cry from yelling/signaling across the restaurant to get their attention to refill your water. The food came out piping hot and very tasty, however, my husband ordered wings, which have always been good. On this night, however, we were unfortunate to get the last 5 wings in the house, which the manager brought out to us. She gave them to us for free and offered us another appetizer. Although the gesture was nice, she never showed up again to take our order for the replacement, but we didn't want it anyway.
Otherwise, the food was good, service was good, and Applebee's came through as our trusty old restaurant.
I do not know what restaurant the person from the one review ate at but most of what they said was not true. You can get a baked potato or a salad as a side without paying extra and compared to other restaurants Applebees is very reasonable and has great food. Applebees right now even has a special 2 for $20 promotion where two people get to split an appitizer and ge two meals like a steak, or ribs, or full size salad. The service is also excellent there!
This restaurant is very expensive. The food is good but also ala cart. You get one small piece of bread with your meal and if you want another piece it costs you 49 cents. They serve steaks but no baked potatoes. Also if you want a salad with your meal you have to pay for it separate. Not my kind of restaurant.......
Applebees has been adopted by my friends and I as our hangout. We go every Thursday night for trivia night. It's lots of fun. The food's good (especially after 10pm, appetizers are half off!) the drinks are good (even though they got rid of their drink specials!) Ask for Mary! She's the best waitress there!
