Sam's St Johns Seafood, Ocala

Hello all I have been to this Sam s St. Johns recently . . I must say after seeing some of the past reviews that this place has I really couldn t believe any of them. Maybe it is new management or direction but the food is delicious & service by far is the best in Ocala . .So if want to believe what s been said about this establishment a few years ago I would suggest you go in for yourself & give it a try. You will probably end up like me I eat there at least once a week & tell people about it all the time . . the best place in Ocala for seafood.

Food and service were much better before they changed managers. What happened to John the manager??? He was there for years that I was eating there and the servers were on the ball and the food was always fresh tasting. Seems like since hes been gone service is hit & miss, not consistant and the food does not taste as fresh. baked potatoes are nasty old tasting and the seafood is overcooked. Sorry it used to be much better.

Was in Ocala for a meeting, Sams had been suggested to me for lunch. I arrived at 11:30, only two tables were occupied but the hostess led me to the least desirable table in almost any restaurant and was less than gracious when iI politely asked for another table. My waitress was pleasant the food was not. I had chowder which arrived hot and with a pinch of grit added for good measure. Before I finished the chowder my fried oysters arrived. They were tepid and tasted watery, odd for a fried dish. Dessert was key lime pie with the consistency of a thick mousse and not enough key lime juice. Usually I would give a restaurant a second chance but not this one.

Dont eat here... The food is overprices the managers ( most of them) are dick heads and The place is covered with bugs /. ick

I'm a big fan of the Sam's St.Johns seafood in the Silver Spring shores area.It's always nice and clean,and My husband and I enjoy the food.The service is great along with the waitress.I always tip good service but for this restaurant I always add a little extra.Thanks for moving in my area,The Shores.

Average food choices; nothing special in either texture or taste just run of the mill stuff in family atmosphere

I have been here twice and both times the food was fresh, served hot, and service was great. Their seafood is very good, well prepared and they have a great variety of selections. It's a nice family atmosphere and prices are reasonable.
