We were in town for an afternoon buisness meeting...Went here to eat lunch before the meeting...Food tasted and smelled strong fishy...we all had to go to hotel and clean up smell before going to meeting....will not go back there....
The service at this place is awful. The lobster felt like rubber in our mouths. The food is way over priced. The service was awful. We were lied to by our waiter. We were trying to have a special night out and the food and service was awful!! You can't pay me to go back there. Our bill was over $100 - enough said. Don't waste your time or money! Don't bring it up to Brian Folkens or any manager either as they don't care. Sad.
the only thing this place over-looks is the water! We were there with a party of eight of us. My wife and I had the filet mignon while our friends had diver scallops, fried jumbo shrimp and the grouper[ we had just seen it delivered.] Everything was cooked perfectly and our guests were very impressed! We are locals and go there all the time. Never had a bad expierence. The restaurant is a Sarasota landmark!
We ate here with the Savor Sarasota deal and had a complete meal for $25. It was definately more expensive than that, but the deal made it fantastic. Not only that, but the food was great. We got a healthy portion of everything, no skimping at Marina Jack's. Also, the chocolate cake was the best I ever had, completely fantastic!
Luncheon with group of 30 served upstairs was not up to past quality. Several had to send dishes back Prime Rib cold, Fishy fish, many polite complaints about quality following the gathering. Our group has been utilizing this restaurant for 9 years but most likely will seek another venue.
Four of us had grouper fish sandiwches. The fish was old, cold, rubbery, tasteless . . . and way overpriced even if it had been properly cooked. Add to this the dirty, ketchupy dish stuck beneath another dish and it made for quite an overall experience.
A view of water doesn't justify this. First and foremost, a restaurant is about food.
