Luna Ristorante, in downtown Venice, FL, has been one of my favorite restaurants to visit while on winter vacation. Generally, my wife and are are part of a party of at least six, so we make a reservation, as the dining room is busy and not large.
Luna is an Italian restaurant, in case you were not aware of that. The dining room is at street level and decorated more as a sports pub than a traditional Italian place. Seating can be a bit tight if you are there when everyone else is, but the closeness is not a problem unless you just need lots of space.
Dinner entrees are pretty much what one would expect at an Italian restaurant, but be aware that most entrees are meant to serve two adults. It is not unusal to have left-overs even after satisfying a good hunger. Though a pound of pasta looks like a lot and costs very little, the dishes are reasonable and well-prepared. The bread is better than average for Florida.
If you plan to give the place a try, get there early or be prepared to wait a while for a table. I think that once you have been to Luna, you will want to put it on your short list of places to return to. Credit cards are not accepted, so bring USD.
