Lastanza Ristorante, located at 285 W. Dearborn St. in Englewood, FL, is a very nice place for Italian food. Previous reviewers here on Yahoo Local have visited the older location, so perhaps with the new place things have changed for the better.
On several visits for dinner, our party of at least four had good things to say about food presentations, quality of ingredients, and service. The physical aspect of the place is also good.
On our last visit, my wife and I ordered a grouper platter and veal sorrentino balsamic. Both orders were nicely served and enjoyed. With one soft drink and these dishes, our bill was just a bit over $29 with tax, so this is not an expensive restaurant, though it appears to be more upscale than what the bill suggests.
Parking is available in the lot behind the restaurant. Credit cards are accepted, and everything is all at ground level. The place is kept clean and inviting. A full bar is available, if I remember correctly.
I look forward to returning to Lastanza next time I'm in Englewood.
I have been enjoying dinner at Lastanza since it opened. I have never had a bad meal there. The Waitstaff has always been freindly and ready to serve. The food is very good. We look forward to dining at this very nice ristorante, and having an after dinner drink in the lounge.
LaStanza is by far the best restaurant in Englewood!! The food is wonderful and everytime I have been there my server was great! She is a very sweet and very attentive server!! I frequent LaStanza several times a month and have never had a problem. LaStanza is NOT fast food, everything is prepared fresh and made to order. In reading some of the other reviews and being a server before, some people are just never happy! If you cannot go out and enjoy a sit down dinner with friends and family then I feel sorry for you. If you want fast food, go to McDonalds! If you want a great meal and meet some wonderful people, go to LaStanza:)
We used to go there on a regular basis. My daughter loved the Penne al Vodka and my wife the Linguini Pasta Vongole. The last time we went there all the different pasta was heavily overcooked and we did not enjoy it at all. We brought that to the attention of the management. They were not interested in taking care of that, offering us something else or give a reduction from the bill. In the future we will definitely choose another restaurant than going to LA STANZA.
THE SERVICE IS NOT ALWAYS THAT GREAT. THE KITCHEN IS ALWAYS IN THE WEEDS IF THERE ARE MORE THAN 5 TABLES IN THE HOUSE. BUT WHEN YOU FINALLY GET YOUR FOOD IT IS USUALLY VERY GOOD. IF YOUR ORDERING DRINKS BE SURE AND ORDER ALL OF THEM WHEN YOUR LUCKY ENOUGH TO HAVE YOUR SERVERS ATTENTION, CHANCES ARE YOU WON'T SEE THEM FOR A LONG TIME IF YOU DON'T.
Service is slow and similar to a roadside dinner but the waitress did apologies at least three times. Based upon the menu and prices, we expected more than we received. One entree arrived hot and the other cold indicating the kitchen has a scheduling problem. The bread, not sure what type it was, appeared to be made from those frozen loafs purchased in super markets and the oil accompanying the bread was a vingerette. When we received the veal entrée, they came in slices slightly larger than a silver dollar. I conclude this restaurant is on the same par as Olive Garden or Pizza Hut but the prices exceed the quality of what is offered.
The BEST Italian food in Englewood! The prices are great, and the food is always fresh and wonderful. I recomend the veal LaStanza, Parmesan Crusted Chicken and the Grouper Marachia. 3 of my favorites.
