Tonight we celebrated my wife's 11th year being cancer free.
We went to dinner with our best friends.
EVERYTHING WAS A 10!!!!!!
It was a great meal, great service
and a great sunset.
Thanks to all at the Gulfview
From the minute we entered the door, we were greeted by a welcoming staff and breathtaking views of the Gulf. We're visiting from NY with some friends that we wanted to impress and we certainly did... Enjoyed the Chilean Seabass and the Crab Colorado. Service was friendly and efficient. We will definitely make this a regular stop when we return... Thanks for a fabulous evening.
Certainly not a bad place, but unspectacular compared to some of the other places around. Food: OK, service: OK, atmosphere: OK....but all just OK. Nothing more.
And don't say: The view is spectacular, 'cause the view is even more specacular outside the restaurant and it's for free to boot.
I generally hate griping reviews, but thought I should add our voice. Took the kids hoping for a nice meal to be followed by a sunset stroll on the beach. We missed the sunset because of the slow service.
Here's the details: we usually order for the kids first, maybe along with an appetizer to get them going - no problems here. The kids food arrived and was very good - fish fingers made from fresh white fish, very crispy and flaky, our raw oysters came, too and were very fresh. The problem was the waiter didn't come back for our orders for 20 minutes, and then our food took more than an hour to finally appear - then kids were long done and bored, the sunset was over and we had to take everything boxed up back to the hotel - still good food, but restaurants need more than just good food at those prices. The lady sitting behind us had oysters rockefeller that were cold and a similarly absent waitress - she said they had a great experience just a few days before. Maybe they were short staffed?
This is one of my favorite restaurants in the area either alone or with my wife. Love to eat at the bar when by myself. Everyone is friendly and acommodating. They can be very busy and the wait staff have their hands full. Food has always been very good. I've eaten the seafood, the prime rib and the lamb. Never been disappointed. The view is without rival. I've taken many sunsets photos there and one of them is still my desktop background. Always look forward to the next time!
As the name suggests you have a beautiful view of the gulf as you are on the 2nd floor overlooking englewood beach. The food has been very good each time i have been there and the service has been excellent. I would recommend it and specifically the clam chowder or seafood bisque. I have had the grouper a couple times as well and it was quite yummy.
Thew few times I've eaten at gulfview grill, I've been impressed with the quality of the food, the quality of the service, and the view. The restaurant is on the second floor, and the blinds are kept down to keep the sun out of your eyes for most of the day, but they make sure to put the blinds up when it comes to sunset -- it's quite a breathtaking view.
The food IS on the pricey side, but this is not what I would call a 'Family' restaurant.
My husband and I make it to Englewood Beach about twice a year and every time we do we make a point to visit the Gulfview Grill. The food is pricey but very well worth it. I love the chicken fingers and Cesar salad. We always have enough left over to box up and have the next day.
We will be spending a week in Englewood this October and we are already looking forward to this awesome restaurant.
