We should have left Sharkys after the hostess seemed overwhelmed by our presence. She looked flustered and confused as she constantly looked at her seating chart. With several seating options open, she suggested we wait by the door until a server was available. So, with the restaurant half full, it would still be a fifteen minute wait. It was such an odd experience. I had the feeling that the staff could not handle more than a handful of couples at a time.
Once seated, the dining experience just became odder. Our server was not familiar with the menu and would speak so close to your face it was uncomfortable. Still, we endured.
The food, which was once pretty good in the past, was under average on our visit. The filet was tasteless; it was like the cook just threw it on the grill and minutes later removed it. My dish was as also tasteless. In fact, I have tasted better marinara sauces out of jars. The sauce, once frozen, was just warmed up and placed over the tortellini. A ring of water surrounded the sauce.
Being a resident of the area, I do not see the amount of vehicles around the building I used to. I certainly know our presence will never grace that area again.
