Rod & Reel Pier, Anna Maria

I'M AFRAID I WAS DISAPPOINTED WITH THE FOOD. MY DINNER PARTNER ACTUALLY LEFT THIER MEAL BECAUSE THEY WERE NOT COMFORTABLE WITH THE TASTE OF THE FOOD. I ORDERED THE LOCAL CATCH WHICH COST MORE $ AND WHICH WAS VIRTUALLY TASTELESS AND I WAS ALSO UNCOMFORTABLE WITH THE TASTE OF THE FISH. UNFORTUNATELY THE DINNER EVENING WAS A TOTAL LOSS. WE ACTUALLY WENT OUT OF OUR WAY BECAUSE WE WERE TOLD IT WAS SO WONDERFUL.

Service was horrible. We had a server, never knew her name so we called her Marge (for being marginal). Dinner took forever, cocktails were watery, and the food was minimal and overpriced. Waste of an evening.

Not as good as it used to be. Our orders were screwed up and the coffee was cold. It looks to me like they don't have enough employees to handle the amount of customers they are servicing.

The food was good but not worth the long wait after we were seated. The server was also unfriendly.

spent a week on the island and had breakfast at the rod &reel everyday. simply put its just a great place to hang out. friendly staff good food and great stories from the locals and the old guys who spend the winter monthes there. if your going to be on anna maria island you have to go to the rod & reel pier just to say you have been there. next year i'm planning for 2 wks.

Very Disappointing when it comes to service.. Food is very good, to bad that such a good chef has to be surrounded by terrible service... I asked where the bathrooms were and had a VERY RUDE Remark by a sever named ROBIN, Do not get in her Station!!! to bad, otherwise very nice place... The management should really take a look at the customer service aspect, ie servers, if they ever want to grow into a full fledged (nice) restaurant.

Great restaurant. Down home very laid back atmosphere, great views of the Skyway bridge and Egmont key. Always great food, never a disapointment. Never had bad food in many visits.

It's a reason to go the island, but one must get there before 9am to avoid the lines and the limited parking spaces. I suppose the waiters see so many tourists per day, that they needn't bend over backwards. Still a fun place though.

Went on our annual trip to have a another great meal so we thought. Our server was Susan and there were 8 of us and when we told her seperat checks she gave us a eye and head roll that would give the exorcist a run for her money. But on the plus side the food was as good as ever. But will make sure that we don't ever sit at her table again. We did say something on our way out and the response was that's Susan for ya. We suggested that maby she find another place to work.We were told good luck !!
