Description

Shake Pit traditions have been growing since the doors opened. However, in the last seven years the role of Shake Pit in the community has been revitalized. This is largely due to the current owners, Bob and Debbie Crowe. With their daughter Hannah, the couple continue the old traditions of the Pit while creating some new ones along the way. All three of them are just normal Anna Maria Islanders who like to boat, golf, or sit on the beach during their time off. Yet, they are the main reason why many customers come back as often as they do.

The Shake Pit is best known for its outstanding burgers and shakes in a setting little changed since it opened in 1959. This is truly a Bradenton icon with its limited indoor service with spinning counter seats and larger outdoor service and seating. Equally important is Shake Pit's being a tremendous supporter of Manatee High School, the Manatee County Fair and other local civic and charitable organizations.

I use to skip school and go eat lunch there (1985). we had a Blast and they never asked us if we were skipping-COOL place. BEWARE of the DARK NARC,

Everybody seems to like this place but the lady waiting on us was extremely rude and it got worse when she dropped the ice cream on the floor and wasn't even going to wash her hands after picking it up. We work in food industry and insisted - not a pleasant experience at all.

The shake pit is an old standby. Their shakes are terrific I love the Strawberry. They also make one great loaded double cheeseburger.

Since 1959 the Shake Pit has been serving Manatee County. What a great place to bring children to see what there fore mamas and papas experienced in Bradenton. They serve soft serve and real ioce cream, along with burgers and hotdogs. You can order outside or go insiode and make use of the spinny chairs at the counter. The indoor area is very small, but that's because most are odering ice cream to go. There is a very good variety of shakes and nothing is better than stopping at the Shake Pit during a typical sweltering Florida day and cooling off with a shake!
