Woody's River Roo Pub
A visit to Woody's River Roo Pub & Grill is truly a unique experience. The crowd is usually an eclectic mix of locals and visitors, most of which are always ready to spark up a conversation. The daytime atmosphere is friendly and laid back, with acoustic guitarists often entertaining the crowd. Yet nighttime can bring anything from hard driving blues & rock, to some of the best karaoke singers in the area. You'll often even see Woody and his wife Christine.
We hang out here frequently to listen to the bands. Although lately, the band playing doesnt match the web site listing. And there are certain wait staff that will overcharge you drinks. We have been charged for drink types we didn t order (like we drink beers and get charged for mixed drinks or wine). We have been over charged for number of drinks. They put the locals tabs onto non locals to save the locals money and still ring up the right number of charges. The owner take their side and the customer is not just wrong, but very wrong. The owner will not return calls. Does no good to complain. The food - well that is 1 in 4 times it will actually be good (usually over cooked and dry) and what you ordered. Good luck getting wait staff to fix it. If you bring it to their attention, you get attitude the rest of the night.
Last night s visit to River Roo s was a HUGE disappointment. It started with our burgers being well done instead of medium rare. My fiance s signature mushroom burger was covered in canned mushrooms; ewwwww! When we told the waitress, she agreed that they were over cooked, but then just walked away instead of offering atonement.
Then last night, my fiance was having to run to the bathroom all night from a touch of food poisoning!
I called the restaurant and talked with Robert, the manager. He was sympathetic to the quality of our meal, but was a little rude when it came to the food poisoning. All he could offer us was for us to come down to their restaurant again and pay them more money! Unacceptable!! When their is no offer to right the wrong, why would I want to patronize this place ever again!
Next time, I ll spend that money on groceries and make a much more appetizing meal at home!
This used to be one of my favorite spots to catch a grouper sandwich and enjoy the special chips they made fresh daily. In the last 4 months we have visited 3 time only be disappointed and hungry. Each time ordering the same favorite menu item, yep you guessed it blackened grouper sandwich with chips. always told it if fresh. The grouper sandwich is NOT fresh and don't let them tell you different. Fresh fish does not smell! I could get better fish from McDonalds. 3 strikes and your out. We wont be returning.
Food is terrible. Grouper was especially bad.
Bartenders are rude, eespecially one who identified himself as the bartender manager.
A terrible experience with terrible food, and very pricey, weak drinks.
Unfortunately I do not have much good to say too. Some of the staff is lacking the very basic manner and cordiality. No greetings, dirty disgusting nails, yawning to the guest's face, etc...Needs lots of improvement, poor customer service.Brought a guest with us, and prior the visit was singing a pray about the place. BIG mistake! Not goin going back, definetely.
People are racist there too!!!!
the embiance was great great location however the food left plenty to be desired when someone cant cook a simple hamburger you know something is wrong my tuna was overcooked & bland & my crabcakes were mush just gross all the way around very very bad food my tip is fire the cook!
Well I have been to the Roo several times....It is a hit and miss on service...the food has always been good....and I have always had a great time with the friendly local people. Never had any dealings with racism. I do know that they do go thru alot of employees. So, what is up with that???? May be management has something to do with that...hummm! I say treat your employees as you would want to be treated...they in turn will treat the patrons as they would want to be treated. And that makes for one big happy family:) And a good time had by all:) See you at the Roo!!!
