Great little seafood market. Love the fried flounder!

Walts has the best snow crab!!! You can get a pound and a half for only $15... The price is awesome and the taste is even better... So much better than Red Lobster!!! I wish they had walt's in Indiana!

Having been raised by a sea-faring dad, I've enjoyed fresh, home-cooked, delicious seafood all of my life. So when my husband and I decided to go out to eat the other night, we looked for a restaurant with good seafood. That was not as easy as one would think. After an embarrassing experience, we left a seafood restaurant due to poor quality of food and service. The fish was imported frozen, and therefore was tasteless and mushy. The clam chowder had no clams in it. The prices were ridiculous and the management was embarrassing. After trying multiple times to get something with flavor, we left. Hungry and upset, we stopped at Walt's on a whim. I have to say, I was most impressed by both the food and the service. Marcy, our waitress was knowledgeable and pleasant. She knew the menu and had excellent recommendations. We had fresh grilled halibut, which was deliciously moist and flaky. The lobster bisque was filled with lobster pieces and spiced perfectly in a rich, creamy sauce. The hush puppies burst with flavor of onion and corn with just the right amount of sweetness. The conch fritters were delightfully spicy with a touch of red pepper, just as they should be. The new potatoes tasted just like home, soft with garlic and butter. Even the okra was cooked to perfection, with no greasy aftertaste. The key lime pie was tart and tasty. We had no complaints. All of the servers were friendly and the atmosphere made you want to come back...which we will, tomorrow as a matter of fact, and this time we will share this wonderful discovery with our family.

This is a great informal restaurant that serves great seafood! Our server brought out a seafood spread (complimentary) before we ordered. We had Sarasota Seafood Platters ($12.00) that included bay scallops, shrimp, crab roll hush puppies and flounder all were fried. My favorites were the shrimp and the flounder. Walt's also serves fresh fish that is broiled or fried at reasonable prices. We would definitely go back. The only thing that I didn't like was the restrooms. Although clean they were located on the outside of the building and it was raining cats & dogs that day. Very pleasant experience overall!

WE HAVE BEEN GOING TO SARASOTA AREA FOR THE PAST 18 YEARS AND JUST FOUND WALT'S THE LAST TIME WE WERE THERE. WE ARE SOOOOOO LOOKING FORWARD TO RETURNING IN MAY OF THIS YEAR AND YOU BET WE WILL BE GOING TO WALT'S MORE THAN ONCE TO EAT WHILE THERE - VERY GOOD FOOD AND GETTING THE MEET THE FAMILY WAS A TREAT AND WAS EVEN TREATED TO SOME BLUE CRAB THAT WE HAD NEVER EATEN - ONE OF THE FAMILY CAME OUT SAT DOWN AND SHOWED US HOW TO EAT THEM - YOU GUARANTEE THAT WILL BE WHERE YOU WILL FIND US THE FIRST NIGHT WE GET THERE!!!

If you are Looking for the freshed , tastiest, and the most varriety of Seafood in Town,Walt's is the place. They have almost any fish you can imagine, most caught that same day..If you are looking for Fancy, You won't find that at Walt's only the FRESHEST Fish to buy or eat there, great old fisherman's haven, with great food and service, don't pass them by, stop in you won't regret it!!!
