We've been visiting the Marriott Marco Island on an annual basis for the past 10 years, and will continue to do so. We have stayed in both of the towers, as well as the Lanais (which are just awesome). Kids and adults alike have a fabulous time whether it's hanging out at the pool, eating at the resort restaurants, going shelling, walking the beach, or swimming in the Gulf. Activities abound! The staff has always treated us like royalty - if there's been any problem with our room or during our stay they have worked to remedy the situation until we were satisfied.
The Marriott is a big place. As such, it has nice amenities. However, as a big place, it sometimes sells out for various conventions, conferences, etc. and you feel a little crowded. It is always a place to investigate when looking for a hotel on Marco though. A definite first or second choice. Recently renovated.
Marco Island Marriott is my fmailes FAVORITE place to vacation and have been going there for 25 years!! Beach, Sunset, Relaxation, Pools, Spa, Tennis, Gym, Weather, FOod, Staff are all above expectations. I look forward to going every time. #1 for familes and couples. Would not take a second thought worth every penny!!!!!!!!!!
Great for families, but expect to pay extra and a lot for everything. If you want net access - that will be over $15 per day after taxes, how about a float at the pool, sure $5.80 per HOUR after taxes. Cold beer by the pool, sure, you can get a CAN for $5.49 including taxes, burger and fries will cost over $15. Parking a car, 10.60 a day after taxes, almost $20 for valet.
Besides the prices, the only thing I didn't like was checking in. When you drive your vechicle to the front of the hotel the valets grap you bags from your car and basically jerk the keys out of you hand and have you luggage whipped into the lobby before you can even get out of the car. They will also tack on an almost $20 valet charge and expect at least $5 per bag upon delivery to your room. It is actually a very stressful start to the stay because you don't really have any clue where they are taking your luggage let alone what room your going to be in. When I requested to take my own bags to my room (only had 2, which included my computer and other personal items that I wanted to stay with me) they refused and said they can't allow that for insurace reasons.
I loved the total experience. The Gulf view was picturesque...unforgetable! The staff were exceptionally nice and friendly. The spa was truly a marvelous experience. I plan on going back again and again.
This resort is absolutely beautiful! The beach is wide with white sand and shells galore. They have two good size pools and it seems that children tend to stay at the pool with the water slide while couples tend to lie out at the other. All of the restaurants offer great food ranging from pizza to fine dining, including a martini bar. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Our favorite thing we look forward to, is to sit on the balcony of our room each evening watching the sun set over the gulf while listening to island music provided by the resort playing below. The only down sides are, that the island night life is not something that you would find in the larger towns like Fort Myers or Miami, and that the resort is a little pricy especially in season. Even with this we keep coming back. The Marriot does a fine job and is worth a visit that you soon won
Coming up this april will be my third trip to the resort. I go with my family and have a pretty good time. The water is amazing and clear and the hotel pool is the perfect temperature. The shelling trip is highly recommeded we got a great view from the ocean and stopped on a deserted island and got great shells. The only downside to the resort is the lack of nightlife... it is definately a calm family place but i still have a great time!
