Bean of Sanibel
For a Seattle-style latte or some handmade ice cream, head to The Bean, located on Sanibel Island. It offers coffee drinks, bagels, ice cream, sandwiches and wine. Try a fresh baked scone for breakfast and a bagel sandwich or a grilled Italian Pannini sandwich for lunch. And for dessert, Key Lime coconut ice cream. They also have frozen Chai, a tea drink with nutmeg and allspice. The iced coffee drinks have a "spoon" that is also a cookie. Reservations are not necessary, and you can dine outside.
Great little place to pick up coffee and breakfast in the morning or to have lunch. The bean can get very crowded [normally during lunch hour] but service is usually fast. Outside kids can color with chalk which is really cool I think. Parking is small and can be hard to find a spot, but I've seen worse. All of there food is good including here coffee and other drinks. I say you should try it! I totally reconmend it.
The Bean is an interesting little place that takes care of two things that are in short supply on Sanibel: a coffee house and a place for breakfast food. If you are in need for either of these things, this is the place to go. Otherwise, don't confuse it for one of the many wonderfull dining experiences to be had on the island.
