Just moved here from TX and was looking for a good Mexican food restaurant. Tried Deans since it serves pretty much only Mexican. Sure not what we're used to. In TX, all Mexican restaurants serve complimentary chips & salsa. Available at Deans for an extra charge. The portions were ample and the food was OK but the prices are through the roof. Will try other Mexican places around the area but they are few and far between.
I have been to Deans multiple times, tried multiple items on the menu, have always had a wonderful meal! Sometimes if busy, service is a little slow, but that is true at pretty much any establishment. I live about 30 mins away and will make the drive to eat and hang out there. It has great food and great atmosphere!
Very disappointing experience. Waited a half an hour for my dinner order only to discover it was cold. Asked the bartender (Rachel) if I could have it reheated. After 15 minutes I still had no dinner. When inquiring as to where my order was, she yelled across the bar with a surly tone that she was to busy to get it. I was stunned. She then brought the order. At this point however, it was just not worth it. I declined the food and was leaving when she blamed the entire matter on me. Never ever going back.
Deans South of the Border has great food and large portions. I've always had fantastic, friendly service no matter how crowded they are! Lot's of fun to spend a beautiful night sitting outside enjoying the people and beautiful down town Punta Gorda........!
The service stinks and the restaurant is just ok. Went there Saturday night and the waitress better go find herself another job. Couldn't get anymore salsa, napkins or another drink. I can find better places to go!
HuH? Dean's has been around since 92 and has ALWAYS offered free drink refills. Portions are huge, prices good. It won Best Mexican, Best Margaritas, Best Cheeseburger, Best Open Air Dining and finalist for lunch and overall restaurant for 2009 Best of Charlotte. Must be doing something right.
I like this place and its reasonable priced. However while I was there and I snapped a picture of my friends at the bar - I caught a picture of the bar-maid picking her nose.. Gross!!! Check out the picture I just posted. She is digging for gold.. Ewwwww
WARNING, TO EVERYONE DON'T EAT DINNER AT LULU'S . The food is the worst latin food I have ever eaten.
It's way over priced for the portion. There's no specific region where I can see this kind of food is serve from any region dealing with latin. I think the Executive Chef is using recipes from his ass and must have rejects for sous chefs. I don't suggest anyone to work there in that kind of environment. Maybe someday before there business dies in the restaurant they will try something different other than latin. This town doesn't want latin food, maybe mexican but not latin.
THIS IS THE TOP OF THE PLACES THAT ARE A MUST TO DINE AT.....WONDERFUL outside seating.....GREAT FOOD....and the STAFF are geniune and attentive. We stumbled on it by accident but thank goodness for the CITY's LOCATION signs on the sidewalk for dining and shopping. We had my nephew and future wife visiting from Milwaukee WI. THEY LOVED IT. Will definitely drive guests from CAPE CORAL to this establishment while visiting.........THANK YOU for a great and memorable afternoon!!!! PAUL and Betty
