This was, without a doubt, one of the worst meals I ve ever had. The server was great, but the food was overpriced and horrible. We always try to support the local business owners. But we can t support this one. Stay away from this place!!!!! I guess Abe didn t learn his lesson from Coral Rock.
One of the worst experiences ever. Whats worse is that it wasn't the server. Our bartender was good. She was very busy and still did well. We ordered a pizza for an app. 53 minutes later it came out. We were going to go inside to to have dinner after. However after waiting 53 min for an appetizer we didn't want to wait another hour for our dinner. I didn't want anything taken off of our bill since we ate it so i waited till after i paid. I went inside and told the manager. She sent me to the owner who was dismissive and didn't care. I am a general manager of a restaurant, and i told him that. He didn't even care. Actually told me that i said what i had to say and be on my way. Are you kidding me. Unprofessional and unacceptable. Never have i been treated so poorly in a restaurant. Do not go there.
We stopped in last evening around 6 pm for cocktails at the outside bar. The view is beautiful, but the service at the bar was AWFUL. We waited ...and waited...and waited for a drink and just when we were about to leave a bartender who was just starting her shift took our drink order. The bar was 2/3 empty and the wait was not worth the drink ! The drink was watered down and tasteless. 2 drinks were not worth the $11.00 cost. The waitresses were eating fruit from the bar area...tasting drinks with a straw that they drew a taste from the drink with and they were yelling at the bartender in loud voices. No one seemed to display customer service...it was a mess !!!! We will NEVER EVER return and NEVER recomment the place to anyone. Don t waste your money....go to Fisherman s Village for a great meal....across the bridge instead !
We are new to the area and have always loved to check out new restaurants. We chose to visit Portifino s Saturday night 3/10/12. We were met by the Hostess who stated that there would be a slight wait but she would do her best to get us seated, it didn t matter to us for we had another couple we were waiting for. We chose to sit at the bar for a drink while we waited. The Bartender was very personable and the drink was very good. We were seated outside, our waitress was fantastic, was checking on us constantly even though all were extremely busy. Our dinner came out at a timely manner and the food was excellent.
The only disappointment was watching and listening to an extremely loud, rude, and belittling owner/manager. He was very nasty to his help who were clearly short handed and busting their behinds to accomodate the diners. Clearly this man does not know what he has for a staff, and if he did he would not be treating them this way. Unfortunately it put a damper on our evening.. Not sure if we will return.
Stopped in on a Friday night. Had the Margarita Pizza, which was ecellent. Great setting, beautiful sunset. The band Mojo 4 was playing. Excellent sound, great mix of music. Go on Fridays for live music.
Made 7pm reservations, arrived at 6:55pm. I was told there is a 1hr wait. I was with 7 other people so we agreed. Seated at 8pm, waiter arrived at table at 8:20 made order cause we were hungry, drinks came 22 minites later, 9pm no food, 9:30 no food, 10pm still no food ask for manager. I was told kitchens back up and you can go some where else if you like. So I did Hooters! cause that all was opened at that time. I have never seen such unprofessionalism in my life. If you are looking for a horrible dinning experiance go to Portofino you'll love it. They might ever over charge you on your bill or the manager will insult you for fun.
Beautiful setting on Charlotte Harbor. Friendly staff. The food was mostly good. Tuna was stringy. Chicken with garlic and capers excellant. The appitizer calamari was wonderful. Our group gave it a four. Drinks were good and reasonable. Wine list gave many choices.
