we ate there 3 times the week we were there. Love Love it. Keylime pie is the best I have Ever had. We had dessert at another location close by one night, had to go by the Keylime Bistro for our real dessert. May 19 -26th. 2012 Going to check and see if we can get one shipped to us for an upcoming birthday in July. A must go to place if your on Sanibel Island.

My husband & I ordered 2 pieces of key lime pie to go, as we heard they had the best. Well, the waiter rang it up & it was over $18.00. I asked if it was for a whole pie & he said no, that would be $36.00. After paying we went to our hotel. After thinking about it I think I was overcharged, because that should have been for a half of pie. Well, after eating it, it was not the best key lime pie I've had & we will not be returning there anymore. The pie at the Mucky Duck was only $4.50 for a slice.

Lousy experience. The waitress refused to give a group of 28 separate checks (with reservations). She sent the manager around who also refused. We all walked out and went to other restaurants who would honor our request. If I owned the place, I would fire the manager for losing over $1000.00 in business and tips in this poor economy. We will never return to the Key Lime Bistro.

Very disappointing experience. We loved this place on our first visit about 5 years ago. However we just visited for the 3rd time and did not have a great experience. The place was dirty, service was robotic and unfriendly. We were charged 18% gratuity for a family of 5 (3 of them children). We were told the tuna was suisha grade and it was most definately not. Prices were way too high for marginal food at best. Will not be wasting our money here again. There are too many othere great choices on Sanibel and Captiva to waste your time here.

On an ongoing search for the best key lime pie, my husband and I stopped there a few years ago and were thrilled to have ended our search. We returned just for the pie this February and were reassured that this was indeed, the best. The presentation as well as the consistency and taste were perfect. We insisted that every guest we had in Ft. Myers at our vacation condo this year accompany us to taste the pie and there hasn't been any argument. We got curious about the rest of the menu so we tried a full meal and were absolutely thrilled with the quality of the offerings and the knowledge of the staff. Don;t miss the mud pie. Whatever is being done now - keep it up.

This was a nice way to end our evening on 12/30/08 even with a minor issue. We picked a nice table on the patio to watch the sunset in the Gulf and do some people watching. We were offered crackers, cheese and grapes before our meal. A waste removal truck showed up a few minutes into the evening and started a very noisy pump which lasted 1 hour. We were told it would be 10 minutes and thought we suffer through it. It was pumping out the septic tank at the bed and breakfast nextdoor. Finally we asked to be moved inside. In the quiter enviroment we enjoyed crab cakes, Salmon, a salad and margaritas. The waiter (JT) was great,he said he'd been in the area 5 years. The (enviromental) truck was not under his control so we can't fault him. I'd go back again, just watch out for the pump truck at the B&B next door! I'd have given a 5 star but thought the manager should have offered a apology or explanation to the patrons for the bad timing.

We have eaten here before. It was always wonderful which is why we drove 70 miles for lunch. We will not be back. The seating host/our waiter was extremely arrogant. We were shown a tiny table for two. I asked if perhaps we could have a larger table. NO, those are for four people!!!!, he told me in a rather shocked and condescending tone. . Had I asked to sit outside, which was fairly busy, I could understand. We asked to sit inside. Nobody else there. It was also 1;30 pm so the rush was not going to be happening for at least five hours. The macho nachos were dry and difficult to eat. The hamburger was OK but the fruit accompaniment had seen better days. (Like the week before when they were cut.) Service had that swaggering arrogance that is difficult to comprehend in this economic climate. There are too many other options on the island to waste money here.
