We had the pleasure of going on the Sunset Cruise which leaves from the dock of the resort.. We had drinks and appetizers on the deck and then we had a wonderful buffet dinner. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. It was a great way to spend the evening and a memorable one. Barb Pazdera-Kewaunee, Wisconsin
What a beautiful hotel! The staff is great and knows the area so you don't get stuck in tourist spots. The room was clean, modern and spacious. The gym was up to date and the tennis courts looked inviting. The morning we were there the temp was about 45 so a little too chilly to play. The sunset was one of the prettiest you can see in Florida! OUTSTANDING!
For starters, the landscaping and layout of the resort was beautiful. The staff was helpful, curteous, and very welcoming. The resort was not that busy, which we loved. The resort has a very romantic setting, but I was there with my cousin for a girls' trip and we had a lot of fun. It was very relaxing. The room was very nice and clean. The view was awesome even if it was the bay. I do agree, that the beach was deceiving. From the web site it looked as if there was a nice beach, but it isn't a beach you can lay on or even walk on. The pools were fantastic. We didn't use the valet service, we did the free parking, which didn't take too long to walk or there was always a golf cart or van to take you to it. We would pull into the parking and someone would automatically arrive to take us to the main resort building, which was nice. We did eat at the Tarpon House restaurant on site. It was delicious. It was a little pricey but I expected it to be. We did not use the spa services at all b/c they seemed too pricey. But all in all, this place was awesome!! I plan on returning with my husband next year for our anniversary.
We loved the view of the harbor. We watched dolphins from the pier. The pool was great. The drinks were a bit costly. We were charged for items from the mini bar even though we did not even open it! Overall, we enjoyed the facility.
my fiancee and i went here the first week in march. the pics were fabulous so we were pretty excited about staying here. but when we got here although we found it was nice, it just was not truley worth the cost. we have traveled to some other really beautifull places that were only a fraction of the cost. What ever you do please if getting a spa treatment request a seasoned technition. I am an avid massage loving individual, and out of the probably 80 massages i have had in my life it was by far the worst i have ever recieved!!!(my friend got one and she said hers was pretty good though) this would be a great place to stay if u just felt like reading a book, but other than that there really isnt much else to do. At all!!!! although if u do plan on going definetly have a car because the resort is not actually on sanibel istland, u must take a tool bridge for 6$ and on the island is the best italian restuarant ever. dolce vita. they even have a real opera singer entertaining u while u eat!! totally worth it! just be prepaired to have a long evening at the restuarant! hope this helps you out!
After taking the Sunday Brunch Cruise a number of times with large groups of friends, the last Cruise changed ... no more valet parking free for the brunch and the lunch $35.00 person no longer offers a Mimosa with the brunch. While still a nice Sunday brunch we were disappointed that they made the changes with no warning.
Nice hotel, friendly helpful staff, great hotel but a bit on the expensive side. The room rate is high, the valet parking is a lot, then the taxes and on top of that a daily spa fee of $15 is added. I had ants crawling on my bed and on the desk. The spa fee covers the following:
A free newspaper (most hotels offer a complimentary daily newspaper)
Access to the internet (that is complimentary in most hotels or charged at $9.95 the most)
A free shuttle within the resort.
Tea and coffee in the room (that is complimentary in all other hotels)
Use of the spa and sauna.
So in other words the $15 is a rip off.
