Smokin Oyster Brewery, Fort Myers Beach

This restaurant has a nice atmosphere and the food wasn t bad. However, I searched for a brewery and this place was NOT a brewery. They do not brew their own beer at all. Very misleading by the name.

my favorite bar in Florida. outdoor feel with misting machines so it never got real hot. good live music most days. Turns out the manager was from my home town on long Island. Shooting empty bottles down the bar was cool.

Should point out SOB is a casual open air beach bar style (sandy feet & flip flops work here) on weekends they have live entertainment, usually a guitar/singer, also a great place to catch a game on the many TV's. I can vouch for the Mussles Sausilito, Oysters Rockafeller, Mesquite Grilled Fish Sanwhich or the Garlic Crabs....However the Oyster Po'Boy is the ultimate!! wash it all down with an SOB - Whattabeer - Beach Lager. It can get crowded as its not a huge place and the tunes and atmosphere are so great no one wants to leave. One of our usual haunts when in FMB.

Average at best. I guess these kind of places live on some lore, rather than good food. I suppose it is what ails many places with a high tourist quotient. Wait to get seated was long, service took long, food was average at best. Shrimp small, nothing special. Crabs salty. Mac and cheese soso judging from what my daughter left over. This is a beer and wings kind of joint nothing more. I am not an oysters person, so they may be okay.

My husband and I have been visiting SOB yearly since 2002, and it has become our favorite bar/restaurant in FMB. The steamed shrimp is a must-have, but everything else is wonderful too. I'm ready now!

SOB was a great place. We took nine people including the kids for lunch and it was the best meal we had in Ft. Meyers all week. Oysters, Clams and the fish were all Awesome. The beer was very cold. Donna was our bartender and she could not have been any more pleasant. She was the best. Everyone should try this place.

We loved SOB. The owner's wife is hot and has a great personality. Beer was cold food was great. I give the SOB a 5 spoon rating

We read the reviews and went there just a couple weeks ago. We were greeted (or not greeted) by a grumpy bartender, waited a few minutes to get served (it was not busy) and finally walked out and proceeded to the Tiki bar where everyone was friendly.

SOB is the best place in Fort Meyers for Oysters and beer. The staff is incredibly welcoming, and the beer is ice cold. We LOVE IT. Every time we visit Fort Meyers, we go straight from the airport to the SOB.

It was the best dinig experience we had while in Ft Myers/Sanibel. Food was perfect and when the check came........WOW. The best deal the entire week for this family of five. Wish we had tried it earlier in the week. Going back again Sept 06 and paln on being there several times.
