I am a regular and over the many years I have never had a bad meal or bad service. When the tourists are swarming the beach and the fish monger, there may be a slight delay because they are so busy but the food is worth the few minute wait. Just remember that they don't beer batter fish, it's fresh and tasty. Truly old Florida - Not a chain restaurant and local fresh seafood!

WENT to the fishmonger because of the reviews here. the fish was very fresh. i had the crab stuffed hallibut. it was very bland and the crab stuffing had little or not crab. my husband had the grouper with the 3 nut topping. it was very bland, i tasted it and didnt like it. he said the grouper was rubbery. the ice tea was so bad [mineral taste] that i gave it back and drank a margarita [which was good]. if we ever went back the only thing either of us would order would be fried food. it was just ok
We ate at the Fish Monger on 4/15/10. Again the usual friendly folks in Fort Myers Beach. (I live in the DC area so this is a treat). The service was very good and attentitive. The food was good and reasonably priced. I had the clams appitizer which was done well with a garlic wine and butter sauce. Blackened Grouper was very nice. Only complaint is that in an area where the servings are pretty big Fish Monger's were a slightly bit on the small side. The place is out of the way and takes a bit to get to by the Trolley but worth the trip.
Service was very slow. Hard to get anything ordered. Food was good but again, very slow. Felt staff to be unfriendly and made us feel as if we were intruding. After dinner went to the bar for a drink where we encountered a VERY rude bartender. Will not return.
