Have visited Stonewood three times in 2011. It is fantastic!. Delicious food served at proper temperatures by friendly a friendly staff. Great menu that offers variety from the best cuts of meat to seafood. We will continue to take our friends there.
Service and food quality sadly reduced from our past experiences. They no longer offer their sourdough bread or their delicious creamed spinach. They've added avocado and cucumber chunks and grape tomatoes to their Caeser salad. Not my idea of a Caeser salad. Sauted spinach was greasy. Would have been better steamed. Baked potato was good, but the small filet mignon (though cooked properly) was too salty and had an unpleasant piece of gristle.
I have been to Stonewood 3 times not by choice. I found there seafood and steaks to be frozen. I eat everywhere all over the US. Stonewood is pretending to be a fine dining establishment. Hostess, clueless, service, well um, the sever didn't know anything about wine, and I was ordering there most expensive bottle! If I'm not mistaken, didn't know how to present the wine and even struggled to open it. The server didn't tell us the special listed on their special board and seem to be bothered that she was waiting on us. What the heck is call ahead seating, when you have to wait an hour before your sat, even though you are lead to believe you have a reservation. This place is over priced, over rated and I finally asked the server after if my fish was fresh or frozen. The answer, frozen. Frozen Mahi Mahi in FLA. This restaurant should investigating for false advertising. I work hard for my money this place is a sham. Don't waste your time.
We recently visited Sonewood Tavern and Grill. Our dining selection for our group of 12 was based on the reviews and the proximity to Barbara B Mann where we were going to see Wicked. We were not disappointed. Very nice place and excellent service. We had a waiter and a helper who made sure the water glasses were filled and the dishes cleared as we finished each course. The menu was diversified enough to please all 12. I had eaten a late lunch after golf and was not hungry so I just ordered a bacon blue cheeseburger that turned out to be one of the best burgers I've had in a long time. My wife had a nice piece of salmon and others had steaks, rack of lamb, skewered beef over pilaf, shrimp and a chicken pot pie. Very good salads and soup. Warm crunchy bread. Everyone was well pleased. As part of a chain I wasn't expecting anything great, but the Stonewood certainly exceeded my expectations.
Hands down the BEST!!!!Tired of second rate garbage and lousy service----you will feel, taste and see what an affordable 5 star dining establishment is meant to be!PERIOD!The BEST HAS FINALLY ARRIVED AND other dumps better start paying attention as I am sure they could stand to learn TRUE HOSPITALITY!!
