This was my first visit to El Pilon. It is located in the shopping center on the corner of Colonial Blvd and Cleveland Ave. I was surprised to learn that this restaurant offers all the goodies of Puerto Rico. From the island juice drinks to the pastries too. I had the small pieces of fried pork with plantains (monfongo). I also had a potato filled with meat (relleno de papa). The food was delicious. For the price, the plates are around $10 and for the appetizers, they were inexpensive. It is a family restaurant. Not all the staff speaks English well but are very friendly. In fact, the menu is in both languages. The atmosphere is inviting. It is not a fancy place, but is welcoming.
So, if you have not experienced the food of Puerto Rico, here is your chance. You will not be disappointed.
