My husband and I ate at Thirsty s for the first time and he order a Delmonico steak and I ordered the fish special, the fish looked really good when it was served and I took a bite and I was like, ooh that tastes rather odd, so I put some salt and pepper on it added some of the butter they furnished along with some lemon and took another bite still the taste wasn t good, I asked my husband to taste which he did and he said it does have a rather strange taste, so he waved to waitress and asked what kind of fish is that, she told him it was Swai, then asked isn t it good, and I was like not really and my husband said she really doesn t like it, she offered to bring me something else but I declined because at that point my stomach was rebelling, while my husband ate his steak, I took my smart phone out and goggled Swai , it comes from the Mekong River in Vietnam, when they are shipped into the USA they have to be labeled Swai they can not be labeled catfish. It s been more than 24 hours and my stomach is still messed up, that was my first and most definitely my last trip to Thirsty s and from now on when ordering fish anywhere I will ask what kind of fish is it. That fish was nasty and I never never will take a chance of eating it again.
We loved this restaurant!!! The crunchy grouper was excellent and
the shrimp with white fish special was the best!! Service excellent
although when busy a wait can be filled with a nice glass of wine.
Unusual cole slaw made this a gourmet treat.
Need I mention the prices are so reasonable.
A great find!
I have been to Thisty's many times and I tell you they have THE BEST Fish on Fridays and Fish Sandwiches. It's all good! I might just go there today, I live in Lehigh outside of Fort Myers, but it's worth the toll and the drive over. And the French Fries are awesome too!
we live in cape coral, and I can tell you, this is the best local restaurant, the service is very good, we have loved every meal! Seafood is the freshest I have tasted in the entire area! The prices are very reasonable. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but the food more than makes up for that!!
My wife and I stayed at the Quality Inn Nautilus and were walking on Cape Coral Pkwy when we found Thirsty's a block off the main road. It looks like an old, abandoned Hooters restaurant with the orange top, but was cozy and comfy inside.
My wife ordered a seafood-pasta dish that was great, but the best plate was the seafood platter that included shrimp, grouper, frog legs and crab(?). I have recommended Thirsty's to everyone who mentioned Southwest Florida, even had friends drive from Tampa for a taste
Very satisfied and will be back for '09 Spring Training.
