I honestly do not know how often these are read but I think it is important to write what my family & I witnessed at this IHOP location on 12/6/12.
We have been to this location several times and the servers have always been friendly & the overall service great. As we entered the establishment last night there was definately a different vibe & we soon found out why. There was recently a change in management and the new manager spent his time yelling at the staff, especially for his mistakes.
The manager was cooking the food, one meal at a time, which caused extremely long wait times for the customers. We were one of the lucky tables that received our food within about 25 min., however, not all of the food was cooked as asked and over he forgot over half the order. When the servers notified him that there were mistakes he actually yelled at them through the kitchen window in front of the customers. When several tables left due to the wait for their orders he continued to yell at the servers.
I was in complete shock at the way that he treated his staff, as a matter of fact our server was almost in tears she was so afraid that she would mess something up and he would yell at her.
My hope is that the owner of this location will remove this manager ASAP since he is not professional at all. I struggled with the desire to go to the kitchen window and tell him to lay off the staff. I think that it is also important to note that there were children present in the restaurant while he was being abusive to his staff. If he continues to manage that location I will not return!
