My wife and I have eaten at the Cangtong several times. It is a tiny restaurant in a strip mall jammed between a dirty bar and a cheap pizza take out. There's nothing from the outside that looks inviting. The signs only mention take out, and that's exaclty what the restaurant survives on, since there are only a few booths and tables inside.
Every time we ate there, we told the waitstaff how wonderful the food was but each time they looked surprised. We should have taken that as a clue that there was something about the restaurant that we didn't know. On our last visit we got a taste of the manager who was the most obnoxious and arrogant person I have ever met in a restaurant. She was so argumentative that my wife finally had to ask her to leave the table, but the manager just stood there glaring at my wife for several more seconds before she left satisified that she had been glorilously triumphent in her one-sided stand-off.
We have to admit that our first impression about the restaurant being a decent place to eat was wrong, because there is something very amiss with the management there. I have to assume that the woman who called herself manager is the owner of the restaurant because I can't imagine the owner actually paying someone to run off loyal customers.
I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone!
Boy, what a bunch of crappolo about the sticky frog sounds like the competiotion is trying to ruin by far the best japanese and orinetal resturant for miles. Thank God we have a Cang Tong. Buy the way the food is made to order this is not a fast food resturant. I've traveled all over the world and I can't wait to come home to their sushi. 5 stars in my books. The owners are great!!!
I just recently visited florida this week from north carolina and was craving some sushi and the only place I could find is cang tong which is supposed to be the place to go for good sushi so i visited this place and ordered a couple house roll's the spicy tuna roll and the eel roll and the bad thing was the service was bad and the waitresses was rude and to finish it all off the sushi was horrible the eel roll seemed like they used end pieces off the eel and the spicy tuna roll was decent but very lacking in flavor and as i mentioned in my earlier statement about service I was told 10-15 min's wait for my food try 40 minutes wait because the chef brought my sushi to the counter and the clueless waitress didnt even pay attention to me sitting there waiting and my sushi had been done for 20 minutes soo as for my trip to cang tong for sushi I would of drove back across the country just to eat better as far as it goes my sushi I make at home is far better than what I could of bought there I usually dont fuss but i was by far not happy with this place i dont know the actual food might be better but the sushi was unacceptable
Don't order from this place- my friend found dead and cooked green sticky frog in her noodles- very disgusting. I used to eat there all the time- but won't anymore, especially after how they treated her she spoke to the manager- they laughed at her and didn't give her her money back. Bad service if you ask me- but the frog is worse! That place looks pretty in the front- but someone needs to check that kitchen.
