Cooters Raw Bar & Restaurant, Clearwater Beach

Service was excellent...drinks were great and food was priced very reasonably and was delicious!!!!!!! I will be visiting this place again on our next vacation

I am actually a local that has gone there several times, but never again. The old crazy bearded owner is a certifiable nutjob. After seating our party of 4 RIGHT BY THE FRONT DOOR, he then proceeded to yell and threaten us because the two children sitting with us were celebrating a birthday party and opening presents. He threatened to kick us all out if the two kids didn't stay in their seats!!! I asked him if he forced every other patron in the place to stay in their seats or be thrown out and he got really nasty and cussed at us and yelled at our kids again!! What a great way to celebrate an 8 year olds birthday by getting yelled at while trying to enjoy dinner. The place is dirty, the all you can eat crab legs are almost rancid and so decomposed that they were like mush inside the shell. If you are on vacation SKIP THIS PLACE, you can do MUCH better just about anywhere.

Cooter's quality appears to have tanked over the past couple of years. It was one of my favorite seafood joints when I moved away a while back and I recently went there with friends on a Friday evening. The atmosphere had not changed and the wait staff was fine, but the food was overpriced and awful. Not at all what I remember and was looking forward to. Huge disappointment. Go to Crabby Bill's instead.

If you like dumps where the owner sits at the bar and gets drunk all day, then picks fights with the customers then this is the place for you ! If you like frozen food you can get at any grocery store than this is the place for you. If you like fat disgusting waitresses that try and get you to spend every dime they can, than this is definitely the place for you. If you're like me you'll go to any of the fine Frenchy's establishments or Crabby Bills for a REAL Florida meal. This place was voted best Florida restaurant ? By who? This tiny beach community? It definitely wasn't by anyobe with taste, nor from the other side of the bridge. DON'T EAT HERE ! EVER !

Just ate at Cooters and it was so bad that it compelled me to write a review. Our server Lynn had 0 people skills and our meal (1 app and 2 sub par entrees) came out to be $45 somehow. I watched one of the cooks take a pitcher of beer in to the kitchen and when he got off his shift, my girlfriend and I watched him roll a blunt in the parking lot (if you're not familiar this means he dumped the tobacco out of a cigar and filled it w/ weed to re-roll the cigar into a blunt)... not that I care that anyone smokes weed but he did so directly outside the window that many tables faced. The app was good but not worth $8.99, we should of ate @ Frenchys as we did every other night of our vacation. Cooters sucks, don't waste your time or money here. Keep in mind my girlfriend and I are two laid back college students so not much offends us.

My husband and I love Cooters! We live in Clearwater and don't get down to the beach too often, but when we do we always stop by!! There happy hour is awesome.. and so are the bartenders! We LOVE Jeanie!! We recently took some friends there that were in from South Carolina and they loved it too!! All of our food was to die for! (And the drinks are strong too!!) We would definitely recommend this as a great restaurant on Clw beach!!

This is the worst experience, food and menu option we have ever experienced. We visited your restaurant on Oct.15th around 3:30pm. Upon arrival we were not greeted just asked how many seats we needed. the hostess seated us at one table and then was told she needed to move us to a different table. The menu had barely anything to order for lunch because we were told we couldn't order off the dinner menu. we were wanting to try stone crab since it was in season for only a few days and we were leaving the next morning to fly home. I ended up ordering a sandwich, which was good, but i was told by the waitress that I couldn't substitute coleslaw for something else without being charged $2 extra dollars. any other restaurant would have let me do this. my boyfriend ended up buy the worst tasting chicken wings. he didn't even eat them all. and to top it all off my poor grandma resort to getting soup because there wasn't anything on the menu. the soup, clam chowder, she said was okay. Refills took way to long to get considering there weren't many customer but there was a lot of employees. we got our check and left. we were never thanked for coming or asked to come back from any employee. We will never recommend this restaurant to anyone EVER! sincerely, a unsatisfied customer
