LA Cote Basque French Rstrnt, Gulfport

I love going to Gulfport and have never tried this restaurant before, since I prefer dining out of doors, but we had a Rest.com coupon, so what the heck. When we got there we told the host we had the coupon. He proceeded to seat us and give us the Early bird menu along with the full menu. Our over all impression of the place was it was extremely dark,and dirty. The carpet looked like it hadn;t been vacuum in a month so you can only imagine how long it s been since they cleaned all the heavy draps and plastic flowers!!! They even had plastic flowers on the floor right next to the commode in the ladies room. How disgusting. The service was very unprofessional, but curtious. I don t really fault the staff, obviously they were young and not properly trained. Our food, was not good at all. Very tough chicken and over salted sauces. When we were presented with the bill they charged us full price even though we ordered Early Bird, and was imformed we can use the Coupon on the Early bird. We will not be going back as you might imagine. I don t know how this place has stayed in business.

After spending a few weeks in Paris and searching each day for a dining experience, I came back to Gulfport. I walked into my favorite restaurant and realized that I had all and more of what Paris offered in my own back yard. I highly recommend it for great food, awesome old world atmosphere and wonderful service. In today's economy it is a good value for all that you get.

This is a great place and very reasonable particularly if you have a 2 for 1 coupon or you get there for their early bird specials. The sznitzels are their specialities. Service is excellent and the food is very good. Excellent value for your money and not pricey as are some of the Gulfport restaurants that try to fleece their customers.

I have eaten here a few times, there service is consistant, they seat pretty quickly, the food is good, fresh everytime,they check up on you, nice ambiance, price $ a plate, you can get coupon for buy one entree-get another free equal or less. French, German quisine. Worth a visit

My husband and I stumbled upon this restaurant during a blinding downpour. We were pleasantly surprised by what a great dining experience we had. We will be back again often.
