Capogna's Dugout is a casual Italian family restaurant and sports bar that has been serving Clearwater since 1973. Decorated throughout with sports memorabilia detailing our history (we're the oldest Italian restaurant in the area!), we've been a popular hangout for many years--especially with local sports teams for the after the game dinner. Capogna's offers a full lunch and dinner menu of appetizers, salads, pizza, hoagies and burgers, steak, chicken and seafood entrees, house specialties and a full bar, but the food of choice here at Capogna's Dugout is the pizza, which some say is the best pizza in all of Clearwater.
My daughter and her three children went to Capogna's for dinner after going on a pirate cruise in Clearwater Beach. Kids all ordered hamburgers, daughter ordered fried shrimp, and I ordered boneless wings. Everything was terrible. The kids would not eat the hamburgers, dry and disgusting, buns were yucky. Daughter got sick at 2 AM with projectile vomiting from bad shrimp. Boneless chix wings were these round balls - I have no clue what was in them. They looked suspicious and tasted like nothing. $80 out the door. Wrote owner who sent me a coupon for a dinner for 5. Told him I would never go back to this restaurant and he should do the right thing and refund my money. He chose not to. I feel like the other person who said that if anyone ever suggests eating at Capogna's he's going to bite them! Do Not Waste Your Time & Money. Food is awful.
We have been regulars for several years now. I have a son who worked there for a while before entering the Navy and they ask about him every time we go in, which is several times a week! We love the wings, pizza and especially the staff. This is a good neighborhood place where you can get great food, great service and a smile ...all for a reasonable price! Go there!
We have lived in the area for 22 years and through the years, we have heard abot this place. We kept meaning to try it but something always came up, then last Friday, we decided to go. What a mistake. This was the worst food we ever ate. I had linguini with clam sauce, that when it showed up looked like pesto sauce. The clams were unrecognizable. After 2 bites, I quit. My wife had ziti with sausage. She said it tasted like someone poured a bowl of sugar in the sauce and the ziti was cooked to mush. We originally were going to order a pizza, but when we saw it, we thought it wasn't the way to go. It couldn't have been half as bad as what we were served. What a total waste of $40. The next time someone mentions this restaurant to me, I think I'll bite them.
We can't wait to return!! This place is Marvelous!

Capogna's Dugout has it all for casual dining. Offers wonderful Italian dishes with rock bottom prices when eating in the restaurant just a little more to take out. Food is always prepared fresh. The best Cicken Alfredo I have ever tasted in any State. Wonderful sports bar but is also an excellent family place. Your friends will love you if you introduce them to CAPOGNA'S DUGOUT.
Their pizza is terrific. Plentiful toppings, especially the pepperoni which is the real stuff. Their salads are large and the dressings are really unique and very tasty. The sports memorabilia is fun and the atmosphere is excellent. Service is typically good although when really crowded they can bog down a bit. Always super friendly!
