Description

This casual, nautically-appointed waterfront bar can be reached by boat and offers both indoor and outdoor dining. Sandwiches, including a Tampa Bay grouper special on Wednesday and Friday with 20 selections of burgers served all day. Seafood dinners go nicely with the fine choice of draft beers on tap, as do the Pelican's prize-winning 15-cent buffalo chicken wings served from 6p-11p Mondays. Air-conditioned dining is available inside where you'll also find live entertainment on Wednesdays-Fridays.

Sloppy Pelican is great! The best views, very relaxing. Anyone would appreciate the atomphere and the food is not bad either. Staff is always friendly.

On the web site it states "the best drinks on the beach". So we go! After parking under the restaurant every fiber of my being said LEAVE LEAVE. The stench of garbage was overwhelming. But there was little breeze & it was humid that night. We will venture on. Margaritas were ordered & delivered when we asked our server if she was joking. They were served in tumblers(approx 3 1/2" glasses )@ $5 a pop it was shameful. We had to asked for limes. The plastic glass the limes came in was bigger than the drinks! Giving it a chance we order nachos, fish spread & seared ahi tuna to share. The fish spread was not bad but nothing to brag about. The nachos looked glorious! & that all they had going for them, looks. As the server set them down she said, "the chips are small but theres alot of them" She was right. Not much in the way of toppings once you got thru the first few chips. The chili on the nachos tasted of the cheap canned variety. The seared ahi was a bit OVER COOKED so the server took them back to correct the problem. They were brought back quickly after being COOKED SOME MORE!!??? The server explained the issue to another employee, when he wisely stated "we have to start over with new fish then". Does the phrase "DUH" come to mind? If you want to check this place out, take my advice; Check it out while sitting @ Philty Phil's across the street.
