Silas Dent's Steakhouse & Bayside Bar
This waterfront steakhouse evokes a nautical theme in its quaint and cozy decor. It is comfortably non-presumptuous with leather booths, memorabilia and old photos. You'll dine on a standard mix of steaks, seafood and chicken entrees. Earthy decor and moderate prices give the restaurant a special appeal. Located on the Intracoastal Waterway, it has dock space for three boats alongside its open-air bar. The restaurant is often filled, so it's a good idea to call ahead and reserve a table. Outdoor tables must be booked in advance.
MY LADY FRIEND STOPPED FOR LUNCH NOT MANY PEOPLE THEIR SO I DID,NT KNOW HOW IT WAS GOING TO TURN OUT BUT IT WAS SOME OF THE BEST SHRIMP SCAMPI I EVER HAD WE LOVED IT AND THE SERVICE WAS GREAT WILL BE BACK .
We were just driving by and a steak sounded good. Went without checking online first - big mistake! My steak was served on the same plate with watery vegetables - the steak's juices were ruined, potato was pre-cooked hours before, my wife's shrimp were so salty she couldn't eat them. The servers were openly complaining about the kitchen's performance - slow. Price was outrageous for what we got - over $70.
I never write reviews but i have to put in my input here. I have never been to a worse restaraunt in my life. I would not eat here if they paid me to eat here. Had a few bites of our food and left. They present themselves pretty well but everything is terrible.
My husband and I both felt like having a good steak and decided to try this restaurant. It started out great, being sat in a little booth that sits alone up 4-5 stairs above the rest of the restaurant. It was quite romantic and it being our honeymoon, I thought we were off to a really great night of dining. Our waiter was very personnal, professional, fun and efficient. It was all downhill from there. My steak was underdone, although palatable and my husband's was overdone, he ordered it medium rare and he got it med well. Both of us are in the hospitality business so we know what med rare is, it's also written right on their menu. When we sent my husband's steak back, it came back in the hands of the English lady who is the owner. She said it was med rare and that it was the light by the window that made it look different! WOW, what a line that was....we weren't born yesterday. My husband said that if that was their med rare to please bring another one back rare. A new steak came back worse then the first one, she stood there while he cut into it, unhappy with it, he said to her it was still overdone. After hearing her mouth again insisting it was the lighting, he said he'd eat it, not wanting to cause anymore commotion. He couldn't get through half the steak, it really wasn't edible. We were so bothered by the way she spoke to us, neither one of us could get over it. If this is how she treats customers I can't imagine how she stays in business. Our waiter felt terrible. In the end she compensated us with our first two drinks. At that point, nothing could have saved the evening. Our waiter got an excellent tip for all the effort he put into trying to make things right for us, but as far as going there....I would never go back. The prices are very steep and if we're going to pay that kind of money we want our steak the way we want it not the way they wnat to give it to us. Do yourselves a favor and stay clear of this so called steakhouse...it's really not worth the aggravation. To Silas Steakhouse...learn to cook your steaks properly!
We went ther on July 3rd for a friends birthday. Food was OK even though some people in our party had to send it back because it wasent cooked properly. WORST PART was the RAT that came out and got our meals comped by the restaurant. We even took a picture of it.
The service was very good. The food was good, but not great. I had a surf-n-turf and the steak was okay (a little overcooked with little spiciness) and the shrimp was good. The quantities were average. The prices were a little high for such quality, but it is worth trying.
