This Florida-styled beach house restaurant is located in the heart of Gulfport's art village and is known for its zesty presentation of rural Florida Cracker cooking and for its fresh regional seafood dishes. Home to authentic Maryland Jumbo Lump crab cakes and endorsed in the local press for both its ambience and crab, this is one cool, casual beach spot. There is outside seating on the back porch. Beer and wine are also served.

If you are looking for prime rib that melts in your mouth, look no further than the Backfin Cafe. Couple it with real garlic mashed potatoes, plus a crisp salad topped by one of Ken's salad dressings, add a tasty beverage, and top it all off with the gooey chocolate cake, then sit back and relax. You have just experienced a truly remarkable meal.

We've stayed in St. Pete's Beach for 2 weeks every Oct for the past 7 years, each year we eat here at least once while we're here. Fresh, flavorful and accommodating in a very relaxed atmosphere. Love the artichoke/tomato salad & the jumbo lump crab cakes. My husband has allergies, and they are always willing to change things up for him.

Best crab cakes in town. Just like in Maryland. No carrots or peppers like everyone tries to do down here.
