It just would not be right to come to Florida and be this close to a Grouper Sandwich without having one, so get on over to this restaurant to enjoy the award-winning local catch. Seating is available inside and out. A third floor rooftop bar is a prime place at sunset, when the sun seems to melt into the crystal-blue Gulf of Mexico. After the twilight celebration, head to the second floor disco and dance the night away surrounded by metal palm trees and electric lights.
This place has the most amazing view. I love ocean beach and used to live in the neighborhood so i definitely am a bit biased. I get the salmon every time because it’s a nice classy dinner choice that hits the spot and is appropriate for the location.
Really enjoyed the appetizers, great value at generous portions. My group ordered calamari and Fish bites (generous portion) Can’t remember which kind of fish but they were excellent!! With a few beers! We left happy and full. Thanks The Hurricane at St Pete Beach
THE #1 RESTAURANT IN ST. PETE BEACH; HURRICANE is a bit of heaven! Great place for: a special occasion, date, or nice dinner with friends. Food presentation and quality were unbelievable, service was even better! Very welcoming and warm staff; Fine Dining at its Finest, however, casual enough to still be in St Pete Beach. Happy Hour prices are amazing! Do yourself a favor.... GO!
Fly's in the drinks, rude hostess, ruder manager. Service was poor, food took forever. Watched an old lady handle cheese with no gloves, wife said she didn't wash her hands in the bathroom. Peeling paint, rusty nails. Sometimes you can judge a book by its cover.
i have been to the hurricane for several years. usually the food and service was very good. something must have happened because we went there for lunch today and it was a very, very bad experience. the hostess , an older lady, thin and irude took our name, didnot tell us how long it would be, there were many open clean tables and did not speak tp us again. after 15 minutes of this we just left and hope to not go back again.
Service is CONSISTENTLY bad. Long waits for food. (An hour is not unusual. View is wonderful. Get a balcony seat for sunsets on the 2nd floor.
For better service sit on the first floor. For a good view and poor service go to the 2nd floor. For a great view and drinks (but no food) go to the 3rd floor.
Suggestion for food: Grouper Sandwich or grouper nuggets. Usually very good. Also seafood pasta meals are pretty good.
I prefer to go to the roof and watch sunsets while sipping pear mojitos. Crowd is a mix of locals and tourists. (I'm a local)
I think I might go a little bonkers if they play one more Jimmy Buffet song though.
I wouldnt even give this restaurant 1 star. We ate there on Sunday night and the food was incredibly expensive and extremely disgusting. My party ordered a variety of things all of whci were terrible. Not once did anyone ask how my food tasted either, service was not that great. By the way, my husband who ordered a small plate of seafood for 32.99 was throwing up the whole next day. DO NOT GO THERE!!!!!!
The third try finalized our opinion of this restaurant. After taking three separate sets of house guests to The Hurricane in the last year, we have totally given up on the restoration of the quality of their food (and preparation of same) to what is was for many years. Was: Excellent Now: A very embarrassing and substandard dining experience - especially with out-of-town guests. There are plenty of other really good seafood restaurants on The Beach. Choose another one!
A true tourist trap in every sense. The ONLY thing going for ambiance of this place is the location and the sunset view. The food is substandard and the service is outright lousy. It used to be a small shack and beach bar with food. When it was built into a multistory tourist trap, the quality went to hell. Sad, but true.
