This family-owned restaurant, located on picturesque Bayshore Boulevard, has been in business since 1935. Great views of Tampa Bay, busy with cruise ships and leisure craft, provide a diverting backdrop to the casual atmosphere of this relaxed restaurant, and a friendly staff provides superior service. On a long menu are such options as fresh Florida seafood with grouper, a house specialty. Pasta, salads, steak and chicken are also available. For dessert: fresh-baked Key lime pie.
After some of my family and I moved down here from the Boston area a little over 10 years ago, we searched for a seafood restaurant that was comparable to what we were used to. We found it at the Colonnade. For years my family has eaten there and enjoyed it every time - We have made some great memories dining at this restaurant. It is a great place to dine aesthetically, especially in the evening when the sun sets and then the lights of the Tampa skyline slowly illuminate in the near distance - the majority of the restaurant has walls of picture windows overlooking the water and Tampa a few miles away. The food is amazing and the service is excellent! I recommend a Piña Colada with the Coconut Shrimp as an entree and the Key Lime pie for dessert - it is delicious and a bit of a 'classic' (costal) Floridian meal. I no longer live in the Tampa area, but whenever I go back to visit my family there, we try to make it a point to eat at the Colonnade. Great food, great service, great ambiance - Great restaurant!
This place has been opened since 1935! It has served generations of locals and is still the restaurant to go to if you want real fresh seafood cooked anyway you want. Not only do they serve real grouper it was probably caught the day before. They have the best view of Tampa Bay and downtown Tampa skyline.Make sure you ask for a window it's worth the wait
unless you are a Senior and eat the early bird, don't bother.
It has a great view, excellent decor.
But the food, service, and prices are just plain poor.
I've eaten better seafood at the mall food court, with LARGER portions and 1/3 the price.
Years ago the Colonnade was spectacular, now they subsist on reputation only.

Great resturant... nice view incredible view. The food was pretty good. Although it would be great if they had more thant 4 shrimp on the shripm Cocktail. Not having a whole lobster entree on the menu is also a down point. The service was great. and that's a big plus theses days. The appitizers were good, just a little expensive, and they have crab, but it's not on the menu....you have to ask for it.
