Las Palmas Cafe
Located in New Tampa, Las Palmas Cafe is the perfect spot for authentic Spanish cuisine and homemade sangria. Traditional black beans and rice sprinkled with diced onions with a side of toasted Cuban bread is a meal unto itself. Savory yellow rice and chicken, tender slices of roast pork seasoned with mojo sauce and zesty picadillo cooked just right lets you know you're experiencing Spanish food at its best. Enjoy an individual order or for large groups, there is a family meal menu. Be sure to indulge in dessert featuring rich flan pudding accompanied by cafe con leche to finish the meal. - Vickie Ferguson
Saw the write up in the USA Today and must say I agree with Jerry. Great food made with high quality products yet still affordable. Can't be compared with the dives on Columbus Drive or in West Tampa, this is the real deal without the scarry stuff. The old Ybor style food is not just Cuban influence this was a culture that is being preserved at Las Palmas Cafe!
Can't believe this place is in the heart of New Tampa. What a find, real spanish(cuban)/italian cuisine, you know the kind you grew up with in Ybor! Atmospher is quaint and very family orientated. The bottom line the food is the best I've ever had, dine in or take out I've never had a bad meal.
This place is great. It's very clean and family run. They have very fresh food. You can tell that it is all made to order. I love the cuban sandwiches and soups. I also always get a salad with my meal. They make their own salad dressing and olive butter with the bread. The prices are inexpensive. The service is great. My only issue is that it is cash only, which these days is rare. This is a quaint must try place.
