My wife and I love this place. The only negative, is service is slow as I find them understaffed, but the ambience is wonderful and the food is delicious! I would definately recommend this place to any tourist looking for a great place to eat in a fun, romantic, atmosphere. They often have Buster Cooper or some live music which is excellent enjoyment while you're eating.

The owner is extremely rude. The food is too expensive. I was there last week helping my wife up after she tripped, and one of their bouncers (from the Lobby bar) jumped me, threw me out, breaking my finger and injuring both knees. Owner won't talk to me or return calls, so I'm suing now. All he had to do was return my call. Rude establishment.

I ate at the Garden and loved it!! The food is fresh and cooked to order. And what great home made desserts. The service was fast and very friendly. I've been back since and plan on having my birthday party there!!

I was there for lunch a couple of weeks ago.I ordered fish. It tasted like it came straight out of the freezer, speed-grilled. But we got what we paid for. I don't think you can expect a good lunch of fish for less than $9.

The decor left a bit to be desired, there was butcher paper on the tables instead of tablecloths, the artwork ranged from strange to bad, and we could hear the loud dishwasher from the kitchen....BUT, the food was a pleasanat surprise - very tasty and beautifully presented, and the service was very good - the waitress even gave us a free portion of calimari after hearing our daughter say she wanted some. The excellent food and service more than made up for the other stuff.

Perfect Downtown Location
By ,
It's the oldest restaurant in St. Pete and also the best place to sit in the shade and drink a long island iced tea. The menu changes, and sadly some of my favorites are no longer available, but the pesto penne is always good, as is the rosemary chicken and the catch of the day. My sister said the sirloin was juicy and perfectly cooked. I've never had an issue with service. The Garden does have live jazz Thursday and Saturday, and is attached to The Lobby, a lounge, which can get loud. Avoid dining and drinking on the first Friday of each month as Central Ave has a block party that draws considerable traffic. The fellow who owns the Garden also owns the upscale Redwoods restaurant on the same block.

Just ok
By ,
Walking by the Garden on Central, you are almost drawn in by it's shady courtyard, artsy interior, and funky surroundings. Once inside though, the food and service doesn't really hold up to the pre mentioned hoopla. The food is just ok, with too much oil. The service can be hit or miss. This place is best enjoyed on a Saturday, drinking some wine while jamming to the tunes of Buster Cooper. If you want a meal along with the total package, head on over to the Oyster Bar.
