Hilton St- Petersburg Bayfront
The Hilton Bayfront lives up to all one would expect from the Hilton brand name. The hotel has a premium location overlooking the bay. Each of the 333 guest rooms of the hotel are decorated to perfection and are complete with all amenities to ensure that you have a comfortable stay. The hotel has business facilities like conferencing and audio-visual equipment, networking and communication facilities and meeting rooms. Swimming pools, spa services, tennis, volleyball and paddle boats are just a few of the many recreational amenities.
We paid around 150.00 a night. (Too much)
Since it said Hilton Bayfront we thought it was on the water. It's not. I guess if you stay on the top floors you could see it, we never did.
Had to pay 10.00 a day for parking!
Room was nice, bedding was great.
But..... there was a function going on downstairs. I couldn't believe how loud the music was. The room was vibrating! There were kids running around everywhere out of control.
Surprised at how long dirty dishes stayed in the hallways.
Restaurant was too expensive $15.00 for coffee and pancakes.
No balconys, a fridge would be great for that price.
Would not go back.
Disinterested, rude clerks. Dirty, smelly rooms.
Peanuts in fold out bed and under bed.Not a hotel for families.I tried to switch hotels but all where booked.Dirty dishes in hallway for two days.
Hallway in the evening still cluttered with the morning's clean-up leavings, piled high. The only thing clean was the lobby -- beyond that, buyer beware!Pool dirty and had visable algae growth.Could not reach front desk on phone or customer services.
Had to pay for internet services and parking in there lot!!!!
As small city downtown hotels go, the Hilton is not too bad. Apparently their renovations are complete, and the carpeting and room furnishings appeared (and smelled) fairly new. We checked in on New Years Eve, and the clerk was extremely helpful and friendly, our room on the 7th floor was clean and lovely, and all hotel staff seemed friendly and pleasant. Marble bathrooms are not huge, but adequate, all plumbing, lights, TV and AC worked, curtains shut out all light, and the rooms seem relatively sound-proofed. The bed was VERY comfortable with nice linens & pillows. Flaws include a $10/day charge for internet access (WHAT?!), and very high-priced drinks at the lobby bar. The restaurant was also very over-priced. No free breakfast included, but the outdoor heated pool & jacuzzi are pleasant. Not a bad deal for $99 ($120 with taxes and parking) considering the address.
Disinterested, rude clerks chattered among themselves, leaving guests waiting to check in. Dirty, smelly room. Hallway in the evening still cluttered with the morning's clean-up leavings, piled high. Noisy, rowdy clientele left me feeling unsafe. The only thing clean was the lobby -- beyond that, buyer beware!
This 3-stars hotel did not live up to its promise. The bathroom was moldy, and the carpet looked old and dirty. The worst of all was the room-service. The maid threw away a bag of my souvenior, and there was no-way to recover it.
Online they Claim to have Cable HBO etc. And in room movies however they do not have them and will tell you they know it says it. They are trying to fix the problems. They offer no runners for the bussness class
that they claim to cater to. The food from room service is nothing to write home about
Lemon chicken is nothing more then chicken nuggets with lemon seasonings.
I am guessing the Hilton sisters do not stay at the family Hotels. Would pass this one by
Stayed for what became just one night when it became apparent that the property was being run by children. Checked into the room and although the bed was made, the sheets had not been changed! Without going into graphic detail we were horrified! The bathroom was full of mold on the grout and the wallpaper was peeling off the wall. The toilet was spotted with what you can imagine as was the bathroom floor. After having to go down to the desk because our calls went unattended, a housekeeper arrived with a stack of linens and handed them to me so that I could make up a fresh bed! I can't believe that this hotel still flys the Hilton banner. I wrote to Hilton corporate about this and received a certificate for a future stay at the same property!!! Can you imagine??!!?? This place is a sorry excuse for a hotel and the management (if there is any) should take note!
I should have left before check in was complete. Rude, inarticulate and unhelpful staff should not be placed at the front desk. The price did not reflect that of an outdated hotel under rennovation. The rooms smelled of mold and the linnens were sparse. The workout room equipment was poorly maintained.
Finally, the internet access consisted of a room off of the lobby with 2 computers and a printer. One was located on a cabinet that was falling apart. The other was on a counter next to some old broken cabinets.
My advice, DONT GO.
