Fresco's Waterfront Bistro
Food critics rave for Fresco's sophisticated chef and award-winning wines. Opened as a spritzier version of St. Petersburg favorite Apropos, it's a work in progress. Fresco's bayfront setting has a view of the Pier and its decor features a touch of Art Deco with an antique cash register and seahorse mosaic on the floor. The cuisine is upscale American, featuring seafood and steaks for dinner with sandwiches and burgers for lunch. Alfresco dining is popular and the location makes outdoor tables coveted.
Amazing atmosphere, service and food to match. Arrived there on a busy Saturday night and we were still able to get a table with a beautiful view. The Mahi Mahi I ordered was delicious, and my husband had the Trio pasta which did not disappoint either. The Ahi tuna appetizer is another must. Go here for a friendly dining experience in a beautiful setting.
What a wonderful surprise! This restaurant had been recommended by a local shop owner as a good place to grab a bite for lunch. The food was FANTASTIC! The service was great and the atmosphere was wonderful. I am vegetarian and asked if a vegetarian variation of something on the menu would be possible. The server said it would not be problem at all and whoever prepared the food compensated for the lack of meat in my entree by adding about 3 times the amount of veggies I expected. My entire family LOVED this place and plan on going back soon!
We ate at Fresco's Saturday night, and it was the longest 3 hours of our lives. We met friends there for dinner, and the service... well, I refuse to CALL it service. A lobotomized nematode would have done better than our, um, wait person. Over an hour wait for our entrees, never got the appetizers, had to ask three times for frickin BREAD... you get the idea. After we were finally served and ate, I orderd Irish Coffees for the table. 6 minutes later the dolt came back and asked why I wanted the bar to serve us 'average' coffees! When we finally got them, they were loaded properly with Jameson and Kahlua, but no topping at all.
I'll never eat there again, and as far as I'm concerned, the only way to fix the place is for the manager (who never came to our table once to explain the delay, or our disappearing appetizers) to fire everybody, torch the place, and then commit hara-kiri with a dull blade.
Service this bad is no accident.
The food is ok service is horrible. The day time bartender is down right scary and seems to have some emotional problems. He should never serve people or be around people. He treats you like you are not welcome and he acts like he can't stand most all of his customers. Very uneasy experience. I can't believe the owner(s) allow this service?
Don't go... not worth it.
My dining partners had eaten half their entrees before mine arrived. Mine, at least, arrived hot. The portions were reasonable, the food was attractively presented and very good. We will try the restaurant again.
