Charley's Steak House is owned by the Woodsby family and has operated in Florida since 1974. Charley's serves only three-year-old USDA prime and choice Angus steers, aging them four to six weeks for tenderness & flavor and hand-cutting the steaks daily to ensure consistent quality. The steaks are then flame-broiled over Florida citrus and oak wood in a custom-built pit at 1200(o) searing in the tantalizing taste that has made Charley's the #1 steakhouse in America every year since 2007! I can sum this up. The absolute worst EXPENSIVE eatery I ve ever had the misfortune of going to. Staff 0+, food 5. Not worth the money. The entire attitude was we don t care, we don t have to !

Not worth the price. Still would much rather go to Bern s where the price includes soup, salad, potato, and the staff is incredibly professional and attentive. If I want to spend a lot of money for a great steak with everything else ala carte, I go to Capital Grille for Kona steak.

We went to Charlies tonight for the first time. I was very dissappointed in the meal. My salad was limp and the salmon came to the table raw and cold. It was more suited for suishi. I could have done better in my oven with a piece of salmon from my local grocery store. The only good thing I can say was the bread was delicious. It was definitely not worth the high price. Roxanne

This used to be one of the finer restaurants in the Tampa area and our favorite. Three out of the last four times we have gone to Charlies we have been disappointed, more with the service than with the food. The service has really been poor and when you pay the type prices that Charlies charges, you expect excellent service.....you no longer receive that at Charlies and that is a shame.

My favorite steakhouse in Tampa and I'm a 3rd generation Tampa native. I must admit that it can be hit or miss sometimes w/ the staff. But when they are on, excellent. The Kansas Strip is by far the most superior strip I've had the pleasure of eating. The stone crab(when in season) is terrific too. Also try the filet, large cut of course.

EXCELLENT! Ate at Bern's a month ago and it was a joke, overpriced, tacky and very pretenious! Everything was great at Charleys, great service, great food. Not cheap but definitely worth it.

So I pull up to the restaurant and my first impression is the management staff all smoking outside the front door. I proceed inside to the host stand where I am greeted by the teeny boppers who were more worried about what plans they had tonight than helping us. We had reservations for 4 but ended up waiting for about 45 minutes and the place was barely full. The bathrooms remind me of something you would see at the local fair. We finally were seated for dinner when the true dining expierience began. The filet was excellent, but it better be given the fact that it was 60 bucks, the other steaks our guest had were fatty mediocre at best. The waitress was a twenty something with very little personality or professionalism. We opted out of dessert because we figured that it was our time to go when they started running the vacuum in the room we were in. This place is not fine dining save you rmoney and go to outback.

Expensive and too dark to even read the menu (the waiter carries a flash lights). The steak (new york strip) was very fatty. We complained and they gave us a free piece of cake. would not go again. not worth it.
