Enjoy the down-home atmosphere, friendly smiles, and extensive menu featuring country-style cooking at Potbellies Family Restaurant in South Tampa. It is casual dining at its best for breakfast, lunch or dinner. For breakfast, order eggs and omelets or pancakes and waffles any way you like them, accompanied by bacon or smoked sausage. At lunch, juicy burgers dressed with your favorite toppings are a local favorite. The dinner menu features ham steak, country fried steak, liver and onions and barbecue pork chops and seafood. Potbellies is open seven days a week with only breakfast on Sunday. - Vickie Ferguson
The only choice we have in S. Tampa nr. Dale Mabry is Fast Food and 2-3 high priced restaurants. If there were choices I wouldn t return to Potbellies because when the door opens I can smell the mold and unclean smell of the place. I m sick of eating the same thing every-single-day-when-I-go-out. Pot Bellies has a good selection and the prices COULD be better for what you get. I really HOPE the kitchen is clean and has clean hands. During busy times you will wait bcs. one waitress might be taking care of the whole place. When you get your food the ck. is given at the same time and you never see her again. They make you ask for butter, jelly, ketchup etc and never leave it on the table. It s real dark in there and hard to read the menu. The pkg lot needs repair, the hours are very short - breakfast and lunch only, so that s inconvenient for me. It needs new, clean flooring, a new paint job on ceiling and walls, and lot more lighting. I even feel like the chair I sit on is dirty. I gave it 3-stars bec. the food is tasty, but eating there is very unpleasant.
I love Potbellies! I talked to the owner about the previous review regarding health code violation, NEVER have they been cited for a violation! Those people probably complain everywhere they go! Look at the menu and the prices before you order and if you want juice and milk from publix, go to publix.
The skillets are awesome and you get the whole bang for your buck!!
My boyfriend and I made our first and last trip to Potbellies on 11/8/09. The place was dirty. The fishtank was very dirty. The a/c vents had mold on them. My egg was overcooked and the bisquits dry. But...you will want to check the prices on the menu. When we received our bill, I saw an entry for Milk - $7.00. I asked the cashier what that was and she said it was for our milk and proceeded to show me the menu prices. A small was $2.00, medium $3.00 and a large $4.00. We had a small and a large but were charged for a medium. I was really shocked. Without explaining why it was so much, she informed me that they paid $25 a gallon for their orange juice. I asked why, when they could get it at Publix across the street for $3 a gallon. She said it was fresh squeezed. I didn't ask but assumed that they had someone out back milking the cow. I also found out that they had been cited many times for health code violations.
