Sorry, but I can't lie...The China Palace looks like it has seen better days--about 30 years ago, maybe. When we arrived in time for dinner, we first smelled a stale, musty odor, and the cheap carpet and booths should have been enough to get us to turn around and exit the restaurant. But I like to give everybody a chance. My husband and I went up to the buffet, and quickly realized that a majority of the food had been sitting in the pans long enough to appear dried out. The food was mediocre at best. The Mexican kitchen staff may have been working hard, but the Asian family that served their customers were a very relaxed group of servers. The children of the owners (?) ran and skipped through the restaurant, adding to the ambiance. I'm assuming this place has stayed in business because it's the only Chinese restaurant on our side of town. Keep driving, folks, because there are at least three other Asian restaurants just down the road.
Finally a place that has NY style Chinese food. Great fried rice, lo mein and everything else. Clean place, FRESH food with a full view of the chefs in the kitchen as you wait for the food. And they're FAAAST.
