Was going to go on Friday,,, got talked into going saturday cost 25 extra dollars ... Total cost for dinner was $119.00 dollars then after eating and one drink received another 25.00 bill 16.00 tip and 8.00 dollars for one drink. The soup was cold
got a serving of mashed potatoes and one stem of brocoli ... beff was ok ,,, felt like I could have went to Boston market and got a better deal for 20 bucks.
We were to board at 8:30 did not board till almost 9:00 was told the ship would stay out ater since we boarded 1/2 hour late. The ship docked the normal time. I will never get on the strship again ever. For 145.00 dollars way over priced
My husband and I went for the first time on the yacht. We were very excited about it until we got there. When we made the reservations we specificlly asked for the Starship II my husband asked 3 times and made sure that was the yacht we were getting on, but we ended up on the other yacht which was nowhere near as nice as the other. We also reserved a window seat but when we went to go be seated it was not by a window, they said you pay extra for a window seat. Now when we made the reservation Jessica (the lady who made or reservation) did not tell us we had to pay extra for a guaranteed window seat. Would of been nice to know that! Also the service, I have to say that Ive gotten better service at Red Lobster. Our waiter may have came to our table like 3 times, waited 20 min for a refill on my soda! This cruise was NOT worth the 200 we paid and we will never return to starship. If you find a deal dont pay more then 90 bucks because that is all it was worth!
Four of us got our tickets thru AAA & were told that we needed to wear business causal, not jeans or flip flops or sandels that were not attached to our feet. So 2 of us had to purchased new shoes only to discover when boarding that most people had on flip flops and some men were in jeans. I am very disappointed cause we had to spend extra money for no reason!
The cruise service was excellent and the food was delicious no complaints there, we did have a great time. They neglected to tell you at AAA of the 18% gratuity added to anything extra you ordered, such as, appetizers, wine, drinks this is over & above the $8.00 per person tip automatically added .
The ship itself was beautiful but the area that it cruised in was commercial and not very appealing to see.
SAVE YOUR MONEY. The special isn't so special. At $39.99, you'll get hit with a $15 gratuity and let's not forget the $7.50 for a mixed drink. Food was ordinary. Same quality as you would get at a chain place. Only difference was the plating and the fact you were on a boat. Speaking of being on the boat; if you are going on the first sailing, get a seat on the port (left side) or you'll bake in the sun going out and while eating. Ignore the bit about a dress code. My party was a bit overdressed in our dress pants, dress shirts, and coctail dresses. Serice was very good, but then with a $15/person tip, it had better be!
SAVE YOUR MONEY!
My husband and I have cruised on Starship several times and all have been wonderful experiences--the food, atmosphere, service, scenery, entertainment, and, especially, the comfort level--everything! We always look forward to the next time, so I strongly urge anyone who has not shared the same great experience to give it another chance--sounds like an unfortunate, untimely mechanical difficulty that was probably resolved as quickly as possible. Don't miss out on one of the best venues in the Tampa Bay area--gourmet dining with a gorgeous backdrop!!
Disappointed....although the food was great...and our server was exceptional...the ship was HOT on the main dining deck. Paid extra for a window not knowing there wouldn't be at least a see through shade to pull down.....Internet site lists dress code for the dinner cruise as slacks, dress shirts for men....dresses, skirts, dress slacks for women....No hats, no tank tops, no flip flops, etc......many people not dressed properly and still allowed aboard...advertised boarding time as 4:00...then was told it was 4:30 when we arrived...had to sit in the heat to wait...at least it was under a canopy with a fan....and a pitcher of cold water was brought out....owner should sacrifice a few days and have the AC fixed and shades installed.....I can't imagine how hot it will be in August.
BAD BAD BAD STAY AWAY! Air conditioning not working, as soon as the sun pours in it is unbearable! Guests were escaping to the second deck, saying that they felt sick from the heat. Many skipped dessert because they just could not make themselves go back down into the dining room. The hostess Susan was of no help. Forced gratutities of $8.00 per person, plus $8.00 if you add an appetizer. The boat they are using is not the real Starship, the real is owned by the orginal owner and he wanted to get out of the business, his partner bought this much smaller vessel and named it Starship II. There were 4 of us and our total was $330.00 after all of forced gratuities. A genuine RIP OFF. BAD BAD BAD. I am also going to do my best to get them off of the AAA site. STAY AWAY!
