Cafe Dufrain, Tampa

I like that the Restaurant is Clean, Eclectic, and the staff is aiming to please....As for the food...Yummy!!...a great place to impress out of towners or lunch clients! Great Drinks too....

I was excited to try this restaurant because South Tampa Magazine highlighted it, plus the advertised connection with Mise en Place, one of the best restaurants in south Tampa. I was sorely dissapointed. The dinner took in excess of 45 minutes to arrive at the table; my husband's pork was astonishingly undercooked and my food was cold. The food was not impressive, though the prices were. I would never recommend this place for dinner. The only plus it has going for it is the view. On the other hand, if you'd like a great meal, go to Mise en Place.

Visiting family in Tampa, so my first time at this restaurant. My cajun chicken was very good everything seasoned which is sometimes hard to find, salad could have been better with less dressing,and service was fast but not overly friendly. Overall I would return for lunch and try dinner when im in town again.

My husband and I live on Harbour Island and have enjoyed this restaurant for the last 2 years. The food and wine list are excellent along with the service. We have gone for both lunch and dinner and have NOT been disappointed yet. The Ahi Tuna is excellent along with the crab cakes. My favorites, however, are the Pan Seared Chilean Sea Bass and the Creole Marinated Chicken! The view is definitely better if your sitting outside but the atmosphere on the inside is quite nice. I would highly recommend this place and I am not a friend or family member of the owners!

My husband and I just ate at Cafe Dufrain for the first time last week. For years I'd heard about it, but never ventured on to Harbour Island to actually try it. So last week was my college roommate's 35th birthday and she wanted to celebrate it there. Honestly, it was one of the best meals/dining experiences we've had in Tampa. I had the Filet w/ the spicy chile rub and my husband had the Sea Bass. Both were delicious! Also, the service was almost as incredible as their waterfront views. I loved dining on their patio. We'll definately be back.

This place lives up to it's reputation. The Argentine Skirt Steak and Yucca fries were fabulous and my wife thought here filet with red pepper was the best she has every had. Don't ignore the winelist which is moderately priced but well thought out. We will be back again!

Well, I'm not a family or friend of the owners but we loved our dinner last Saturday night (5/5/07). I'm sorry someone else had a less than stellar experience but I wouldn't assume everyone writing a review is related to the establishment. We thought it was delicious. I had the Ahi tuna and I'm not a tuna fan. My friend had the Argentine skirt steak and both hubbies had the red chile marineted filet. The food was great and the sound of the water was great ambiance and an added plus.
