Nice place. Family has been there 90+ years. Seafood is great espec. the crab cake and the crab soup. Love to sit on the porch and people watch. Sunset Menu is a great value. Attended a reception in their Garden Room once and the roof rolled all the way open and the buffet food was really good and abundant. Love the Sunday brunch, too. We go as often as we can!
It is with deepest regret that I type this review as I actually have more important things to do on a Monday than inform you of the unfortunate event that happened at your restaurant on Father’s Day (yesterday). We made a reservation at Testa's for our party of (8) four days prior to our arrival. We were traveling from Fort Myers to visit our family and treat them to an exceptional brunch at your restaurant. We were surprised how opposite the experience ended up being. The introduction from our server, Shannon, was bland. She took our drink orders and arrived shortly after with a tray. She then asked for our food order and did not come back to refill our drinks for several minutes. My mother-in-law’s coffee cup was empty more so than full. My father-in-law’s water cup was also empty for an unusual amount of time. How could this be for Testa's that is a very well-known and prestigious location in Palm Beach? My assumption is that we had too high of expectations when we walked in. The worst part of our experience was about to begin. Keep in mind that it was Father’s Day and the most important day for the men at our table. It turned out that the one person who should’ve been catered to DID NOT receive his plate of food. My father was disappointed and hungry. However, the manager did bring an extra plate of rye toast to make up for the actual meal my father DIDN’T RECEIVE. (I would’ve disregarded this e-mail if it was me who did not receive their food.) What happened you’re thinking? Shannon took the order but, the cook DID NOT prepare the plate overall. No order, no food. The manager apologized but, disregarded any other service he could’ve provided at that time and the waitress did not come back as it looked like she was in fear of refilling our drinks for whatever reason. Disappointed, aggravated, hungry, frustrated, upset, and overall dissatisfied with the experience. Testa's advertises 90 years in service and voted Top 10 of Palm Beach County. (Amazingly wrong advertisement in our opinion.) Is not cooking the food on the order part of the 7 ½ stars promoted? If so, we’ll start spreading the word of the historic restaurant location toasting the best rye bread in town!
Excellent Italian food with outstanding service. Linguini is prepared al dente. The crab soup gets rave reviews. Everyone liked the hot bread. The Caesar salad is nice but beware of that anchovy. Plenty of high-quality food at reasonable prices and great atmosphere. Inside or outside dining. Can't wait to go back.
Does not honor reservations. Made one several weeks ago and was turned away by owner no less. Place is dismal, food is bland and owners are not even loyal to repeat customers. try neighboring Cuccina instead.
