Padrino's Cuban Cuisine, Boca Raton

As good as casual cuban food gets! Great price and authentic. Authenticity all the way down to the cuban bread with garlic butter appetizers. Amazing selection of desserts...and home made tasting! Go for the bread pudding and the tres leches. Better than many fine dining dessert offerings. People forget how to make a good dessert...not these guys! The cuban tradition comes through! For entrees, the vaca frita is wonderfully done there...and not too greasy. Also, the paella was nice and very reasonably priced with lots of seafood...nice implementation of the spaniard dish.

I love Padrino's. I'm a huge fan of Cuban food and I've never had bad food at this restaurant. The location is great because you can walk around and enjoy the shops or stop by Office Max next door :P Service is usually good, though I've had a couple of times where it was kind of slow (not often). If you visit, be sure to order tostones as an appetizer! My two favorite dishes are Bistec de Palomilla (for you meat lovers) and Paella (for you seafood lovers). Good stuff. You get garlic bread when you start the feast by the way. :)

It's close to the house, but I like the Cuban Cafe much better.
