Ellie's 50's Diner
At Ellies, guests enjoy the music, decor and general attitude of the '50s, along with great comfort food just like Mom used to make. Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, Ellie's names every dish after a '50s song. This restaurant is sure to bring a pang of nostalgia to the baby boomer's heart, and the atmosphere is so laid back, kids will love it too. Ellie's also offers full catering and banquet services.
SHAKEDOWN at Elli's 50's Diner.
$6.00 for a milk shake - - come on folks...?
We pay half that in Nassau, The Bahamas, even less in trendy Buckhead, Atlanta. A Wendy's chocolate frosty is every bit as good, for about a buck.
In the wake of our chocolate milk shakedown (mind you it WAS tasty) we passed on planned $30 per person Doo wap concert dinner that night.
Nice place. Too expensive for this 20% tipper.

P.S. During the late '50's a generously thick milkshake with malt at Flo's Diner in Chatham NY set you back 40 cents.
We are locals in the area and just love Ellie's. Their waitresses are the greatest, dressed in their cute poodle skirts. Ginger and Jackie are our favorites but they are all sweethearts. The food is always very good and portions are a nice size. We have also gone to many of the events in the Flamingo Room and had a ball.
This had to be one of the WORST places we have ever or should I say not eaten at. We ordered when it was busy... over an hour we waited... we cancelled the order then the server came with the food as we were walking out... they stopped us at the door and asked us to pay because the food was picked up from the kitchen but not delivered to our table... we payed, didn't eat and swore we would never return and tell our story to everyone we knew... so BEWARE they are completely unreasonable and don't come in hungry!
