My Husband & our family were visiting Florida and we ate at this resturaunt and we were so pleased with the service, food & atmosphere! Huge portions, family style atmosphere and make sure to leave room for the delicous garlic knots!!!
My family really enjoys this Mamma Mia restaurant immensely. Whenever we get visitors from Philly or New York, we almost always have at least one dinner at Mamma Mia.
Their portions are generous, the prices are appropriate, and the food is excellent! If you have room after your meal, be sure to finish it off with a nice hunk of their extremely delicate and fresh tiramisu. If you don't have room then take a piece home with you.
Now, having said all that, I must admit that their pizzas leave a little to be desired. The crust is a little too chewy, their sausage is just sliced sausage instead of crumbled, and their pizzas are a little oily.
If you grew up anywhere near Philadelphia or New York then don't expect any pizza in south Florida to match the wonderful pies of the northeast. I think the pizza difficulty for south Floridians lies with the mean temperature of the water, and how the warmer water temperatures affect the pizza dough. Coincidentally, I encountered this same problem in Monterey, California.
This place is our FIRST stop when we visit our folks in Boyton Beach. We get off the plane, drop off our luggage and head to Mamma Mia's. We LOVE this restaurant! The service is fine; but even if it wasn't, the food would bring us back time and time again. They have garlic rolls that could be a meal themselves. Pizza is great... I grew up in NJ with some fantastic pizza... the italian dinner dishes are wonderful.. and my wife raves about the mussels...
Being of Italian decent, I am extremely picky about Italian Restaurants, especially when it comes to sauces and flavoring. They are as close as you can get to homemade. I am a frequent visitor and every time I go I feel like at back at Mama's dinner table.
The servings are definitely worth what you pay for the Entree.
My wife, my in-laws and myself visit here often. The food is pretty good and the portions are large, plenty to take home. However the restaurant is not handicapped accessible. The food is definitely Sicilian and not central Italy. People who want NY style Italian food don’t know what their missing. But we like it just the same.
This restaurant is a longtime favorite for casual dining, drinking and hanging out. The atmosphere is lively and very casual.
Most seating is outside, where some of Florida's best live bands play. American favorites such as burgers, salads, chicken ...
