The food is good but the service is so awful it defies belief. you'll wait hours for your order to be serve. they don't care. They're stingy if you ask them for extra sauce or anything more than wht htey give you when you're finally served. Take out is a nightmare. They have a takeout menu, but that doesn't mean you'll ever get your food. I waited an hour for a pizza and they hadn't even started making it yet. I was told that it would be ready in 20 minutes and here it was an hour later and they hadn't even started it. Apparently they claim to have a togo menu but they play games and don't serve you because they think takeout is cheating and just an attmpt ot save money because you don't have to give a tip. Avoid Porta Bullies like the plague. It is unbelievable ho wmuch they will humiliate you there and treat you like their guinea pig. Their attitude is that they're doing you a favor serving you their out of this world concoctions and you have no right to be anything but a captive audience. Don't patronize Porta Bella Restaurant. When the number of customers goes down to zilch, then maybe they'll be forced to actually treat customers like human beings and not bodies that must eat their food which they consider God's gift. Talk about needing a reality check. They need a reality tuneup with a rebuilt engine.
Fantastic pizza, rest of the food is really good too. Almost as good as NY. I hear people complain about the service, but Ive been going there for years and Ive never known it to be too bad. Maybe if you go when its really packed or crowded, but normally the service is pretty good. IMHO, so long as the pizza is amazing, and it is, Im happy.
It is a nice and affordable Momma and Poppa's place. You have to get there early or with a reservation, since it gets filled quickly. You can dine outside or inside. Their garlic rolls are delicious and the pasta dishes are really good too. It reminded me of Little Italy in NYC the cuisine here. The only downside is the service, tends to be a little on the down side, but I think the food compensates for it.
