This highly popular dive serves up fresh seafood in innovative ways. The place is always packed with locals and the restaurant doesn't take reservations, so be prepared for a wait if you don't arrive early. The numerous local-catch specials are prepared in dozens of ways while showcasing an international flair. For an appetizer, try the tempura lobster tail (12.95 USD), or the portobello mushroom soup with shrimp (3.95 USD per cup). Notable entrees include the hearty Caribbean chili (16.95 USD) with golden cornbread, and the Bahamian-style whole fried yellowtail snapper (22.95 USD) which comes cooked to perfection. The service is excellent, and you will feel at home whether you're dressed up or dressed in shorts and a tank top.
We heard so much about this place that we had to try it while vacationing on Singer Island. What can I say.........so disappointed. The large portions proved to be everything but large. One 5 filet of grouper with fries a wopping $25, I ordered wahoo and got a tail, over cooked and rubbery served with rice and beans $24. The (4) dolphin fingers an appetizer which my son oredered as his meal for $9 was tasty. The waitress never asked us how are meal was - she probably knew. $50 wasted. Don t always trust the rumors. From 1 - 10 and 10 being the best I would rate Captain Charlie s Reef Grill in Juno a ( 3 )
Nice sized portions there. Extrememly generous with their appetizers. More like dinner or lunch portions for the appetizer price.
If you don't like coleslaw, don't expect to be able to substitute for anything else because you can't. You automatically get it no matter what.
Waitress's have a bit of an attitude problem. I would've given the place a 5 star rating, but the waitstaff's attitude made me knock points off.
